I can´t imagine the travelers of the Mayflower marrying local women en masse. Also, a person that does not study a foreign language nowadays is not the best person to lecture on human understanding and opening up to other cultures, even if she knows death Latin and death old Greek. If she wants to lecture on this subject, then I would strongly recommend her to study a modern foreign language, so that she can attempt to think and speak in another language other than her mother-tongue, and then she would speak with more authority on the subject. Since she does not want to speak Spanish, possibly because of biased and arrogant cultural prejudice, although great North-Americans have sung in Spanish, from Nat King Cole, to Joan Baez, The Carpenters, Eydie Gorme and even Johnny Cash, then I would advice her to study Italian, French or German. However, she has native languages in her own country like Arapahoe and others that sound beautiful, and she could try of of those too, why not? .
