How to Set Up a Pardot Form Handler

Implementing a Pardot Form Handler isn't super straightforward. So this video covers what a Pardot Form Handler is vs a Pardot Form. We talk a little bit about the benefits of a Form Handler and how it differs from Salesforce's Web 2 Lead. Finally, I implement a form handler onto a live form and show what the process of converting a Prospect via a Pardot Form Handler looks like.

I use Pardot form handlers for fields types of different varieties...(radio, checkboxes, drop downs)...but my implementation involves manipulating the submission of data into a hidden js client side or backend approach copying all form fields to hidden form text fields to post to pardot text fields. I know there is documentation on this but wonder why so many youtube pardot form handler demos showcase only text fields and never ever show multiple checkboxes , radio and drop down input being successfully implemented. Curious to know if in 2021 you have been able to successfully map multiple check boxes, radio buttons and drop downs able to submit directly without trouble to form handler fields without strict requirements.

Hi! Thank you for the guide! But what if I already have this prospect in my Pardot account? Will they be matched in one person or another one will be created?

If they use the same email address then Pardot should match them, activate the prospect and start logging visitor activity against the existing prospect. However, IF you have AMPSEA (Allowing Multiple Prospects with the Same Email Address) enabled in your org, Pardot will attribute the activity to the most recently updated record.

Has Pardot implemented a way to handle file submissions? Last I saw they were working on it; but hadn't done anything about it yet and folks are finding different workarounds for it.

Another common problem is when a form gets submitted with no value in a field and the form handler field is ticked as required. The form handler will not process the submission properly. If you are still having trouble, email me at [e-mail] and we can work through it in more detail if you need?
