Nice job mate I pretty much do the same method for cracked walls I will have to get me some that bigger fibreglass mesh didn't the customer wants the wall hacked off and re-plastered if it was cracked quite bad I've told customers before that walls need to come off as they have blown but they just don't want the mess and dust so this is the method I do for cracked walls great content mate I also like vid where you put a bead up on a curved wall I'm trying that one all the best
That particular MESH was nearly £80 A roll but you can get cheaper stuff I need to do a bit of legwork before I can get the name and if it's any good before I can recommend it I might be able to find out tomorrow
@@onpointplastering nice one cheers mate it's a method I'm definitely going to try on cracked walls that are bad I've always used the mesh and skim think I will look into using bonding aswell 👍
@@Lemon-squeezer I've got footage of just MESH and then skim bed it on float or brush it then wait till it tightens up then skim it as normal just need to upload it I do it that way aswell just depends how bad the wall is
@@onpointplastering sounds good mate I will try it out when you upload the vid I tend to use bonding on cracked walls if the walls are quite uneven and I apply mesh tape with the bonding if I'm going to be bonding coat the whole wall always great even as a plasterer to get tips of other spreads 👍
Hi there buddy. Never seen this before but looks like a damn good idea instead of having to hack off all the old plaster. Moving on to Part 2 now. Great vid BTW. Des
About 7 years ago I worked with a company that used the MESH for k-rend since then I've used it on problem walls when plastering and I will also be going through your vids once I get a bit of time on my hands I think the cheapest MESH you can get is £36 dearest is about £80 Just different thicknesses 👍
Hi Gordon, love the videos keep it up. Quick question, when using the mesh do you overlap the mesh sheets or just butt them together. I have old lathe and plaster walls, cracking is an issue! Thanks
Brilliant video, I have recently moved into a house and stripped the wallpaper which had crumbing plaster behind it. I have tapped the rest of the wall and some of it is hollow. If I take down the rest of the plaster to the brick. Can I use this type of plaster and the fibreglass mesh? I would like to attempt this myself if I can. Thank you.
If you want to have a go at doing the wall this way and it's onto brick work then you should use plaster that's called browning as a back coat you could als dot dab 35mm insulated gyproc onto the wall then skim it 👍
My plasterer has just stapled the mesh to the wall and is skimming on top. Err is this a terrible way to do things? He hasn't embedded the mesh into a bonding or skim coat!
Hey buddy what is more appropriate to use on the cracked watersoaking roof, fibre glass mesh embedded in plaster or fibre glass chopped strand mat with resin?
@@ricdavid7476 you want to buy the roll that's about £40 as its good quality and not to thin, there's really no need to use it on plaster board but if you think you need to it's OK to use it on it
If the walls really that shot just knock bk to brick and and start again, its obvious the backing coat has served its due corse, only giving a bad wall a face lift with no guarantee but just my opinion on what I'd do.
i love jobs like that, great job by the way

Great job!!! First coat its bonding or plaster
It's a freehand bonding coat over all the mesh then multi finish plaster over the top of the bonding for a painted finish
@@onpointplastering thank you for your video its very useful, wish to be so speedy, fantastic job Mr!
Great video bro. Thank you

Great video is this plastering mesh the same as what you use on rendering.
Yes it is but buy the good grade 1 for about £30 a roll the low grade ones are rubbish
