Undoubtedly inspired by recent dark times and as the new single and video clip proves, the band’s sophomore album is more pissed off, fast-paced and pitch black throughout. Rikke Emilie List’s guttural, sublime growls and fierce screams perfectly integrate with a heavy as hell wall of blackened death and funeral doom metal riffs from guitarist Sara Helena Nørregaard, backed by a thick, profound rhythm section provided by bassist Heidi Withington Brink and drummer Julie Simonsen.
"‘Pipe Dreams’ dives deep into the heart of manipulation, whether it be by a person, an institution or an entire industry,” vocalist Rikke reveals. "In the ‘Pipe Dreams’ factory, insecure people are deceived, exploited and told that their biggest dreams are just about to come true..”

This is so brutal. No matter how long have I been listening to death and doom metal, I'm still fascinated by the fact that a human being can sound like that.
There is just something about Konvent that makes you go "Fuck Yeah ".
Proof you don't need to be an overly technical band to create an overly brutal tune. Love this groove and that voice.

Just got a ticket to their new concert in the start of april with 1914 and Livløs :)
The guitarist Sara is pregnant and she is now on hold. I am sure they have found a new splendid guitarplayer until Sara fully reclaimes her throne back in the near future.
Just some triviel informations before my point : Konvent always gets 12 out of 12 panzergranaten from me an my fave track is and will alway be "Puritan Masochism". Never change a winning team when the shit works. I hate bands going mainstream or experience as forexample the band Ulver therefore I love AC DC ....
Therefore I have to write this just as an idea : Please keep going this road but in an alternative universe I would love to see the wifes in Konvent incorporate the new guitarist as a 5. member. Let her play some disturbed guitar as some old Entombed.
I know after asking the basist that she has a favour in holy BOLT THROWER and they also play with 2 guitars.

I bought Puritan Masochism on a whim and listened to it for weeks before I Google and saw that it is an all woman group. Seriously my favorite band out right now and I couldn't be more stoked for Call Down the Sun. I haven't been this excited for a new release in idk how long. It's a good feeling.
