The problem with Superman is the enviroment he fights in. 99% of time, he's fighting his top tier opponents in areas with many people. And it doesn't help that 99% of the time, his opponent for some odd reason is hell bent in keeping Supes in an area full of people. Also, whether or not the sun is up or not; Supes does not grow weaker.
