Love the Ions they feel so dialed in. The strap gives you that traditional binding feel. Mines softened up a little after about six days! Very comfortable and responsive! 🤙🏽
Yeah the Ions are great for support and customization. Always a good choice!
You guys think you could also review some DC step ons and the Nitros?!?
DC Step On feature callout videos on the way!
Thanks a lot for explaining this brands bindings and boot for all skill levels!! It gives me a very clear focus on my new equipment 😄
Always happy to help!
I have had the Photons & Ions. I think Burton missed a trick with both boots. The Photons are basically a single BOA system that has a BOA strap to replicate the feel of a binding strap, unlike the double BOA system on the Photon boots for traditional binding that provide independent upper and lower functionality. The Ions are great if you don’t mind the strap which is almost pointless to the extent that many riders I know cut it off completely.
I tried the Nitro Darkseid and sold both the Photons & the Ions. As soon as I put them on they felt night & day better designed than the Burtons. They are expensive (I was fortunate to get 30% reduction) but personally worth it. They have a true dual BOA for an independent upper/lower control and an inner locking system to keep the heel firmly in place. They are similar to the Ions for stiffness and a far better thought out boot. I spend a fortune with Burton (8k) last season so no hate from me. I just wish the Photon/Ion boots were functionally better designed.
The most important thing is that you find the boot that fits best for you. Glad you could find yours!
Asked for it yesterday! Lol! This was quick! 👊👊👊
Hope you enjoy! 👊
Just got my Swath and they’re pretty awesome. not a fan of the ankle strap on the photon personally
How is the flex on the swaths? 5/10? I'm considering buying them
Glad you could find the right boots for you!
@@clazz6638 probably don’t have enough exp with a lot of boots to give you a truly informed answer. for me, they’re just the right level of flexibility and I like something in the middle - I’d say 5/10 is about right
I bought the Burton photon last year, and I really like the step-on system. However, I’ve been experiencing a lot of pain on the sides/outsides of my feet. This has actually been a problem for me with various shoes in the past. Is there anything I can do to help reduce this pain?
