This performance of Alex Woodcock's Schottiche was recorded for the Northumbrian Pipers' Society as part of President's Day 2020. Great day, despite the lockdown! Tune: Owen Hackett's.
Fantastic ! 😊.. great influence from English folk tradition to the Irish River dance and America through to tap dance ! ..They say that through the Mills they tapped out the rhythms of the machines !
There are bagpipes all over Europe! The three native, uninterrupted traditions across Britain and Ireland: Northumbrian pipes, Highland and uilleann. The Northumbrian smallpipes are the only ones with a stopped end, creating a unique playing style and allowing more keys.
@@ronaldl9085 Apologies. It's hard to tell from the printed page whether someone's being sincere or sarky (especially if you're British, and assume EVERYONE is being sarcastic) :-)
I love this -- it looks like the video cuts off before the dance ends unfortunately. Do you happen to have a full length video of the whole dance or a learning resource?
Northumbrian Pipers tend to call it "Tom Hackett's" or "Tom Hackett's Dream". I'm sure I heard someone say "Tom Hackett calls it something else", but that's I know it.
Brilliant but pity you were far, if you were closer little the music will be higher little bit to be in harmonized in sound with clog, do it again and play the pipe little bit closer to the camera, because sound of clog perfect but you need to be closer.
keep our identity going marvelous

Well done. Quite distinct from Dutch clog dancing.
Is that sarcasm? Marvellous.
@@jimdaw65 No. I loved it. The title says "clog dance". Dutch clog dancing is very different.
