Would say mostly emotional health is root cause of mental but that's just my opinion. Hope things get better. For me I just do a random change everyday seems to help with my problem and if think negative I purposely fight it off! 👊

Here is a quick story from a bud of mine. He was camping with a few other people on federal land, apparently they had been noticing small things that where off about the forest, like some trees had markings on them, there was signs of heavy duty boots along a small path, and what looked like a sight of a burned out campfire. On the second day they were there they had been going along a trail for a walk when 4 men in ghillie suits ran out of the woods apparently holding M4 carbines that they had trained on the group. They were escorted to a MOB (mobile operations base) where they were questioned. Apparently they had stumbled upon a military exercise where a group had to get info on the enemy group. They had apparently been mistaken for OPFOR which was why the men in ghillie suits treated them like that. The thing he said scared him the most about it was that they had no idea there were men hiding next to the trail.
I was at an airsoft game within a wooded & bushy area, game was called & the friggin bush I was standing less than 5 feet away got up and walked off!! Had NO clue that dude was even there 😂

On reddit there is a subreddit called r/missing411. It tells a story of a hiker who was skilled at this task, he was reported missing at the park in this video.
In the comments, there is a guy who mentioned this video and how it got taken down. Someone commented on his comment saying the following:
“I can’t find it ether. It must of got taken down because of shoddy info.”
Shoddy and is a word that the Brits use. My theory is that it got taken down in Scotland/England but not in America. I am watching from America and I can watch it just fine.

This is why writers should stick to what they know. As soon as they stray into speculation about things they have no knowledge about, it destroys the story. I enjoy listening to stories like this, but the writing can be amateurish at times.

One my family friends while back lived down a few streets from me, she was from Trinidad.
Greetings from rural Canada. I'm supposed to visit Trini with some friends from work that were born there. Sounds like a beautiful place! Where I live is in the wilderness and still very much frontier. Lots of weird and unexplainable things happen out there in the endless forest.. But, stay armed and have a good reliable german shepherd and you'll be alright.
Maybe its The Weremidges ? Scotlands biggest secret , that's apart from the recipe for Irn-Bru. The pale white entity is Peely Wally. An actor from Trainspotting that got lost after filming. He's been drained of blood by The Highland Midge ,daily since being left behind.
The weremidges hang about with the werehaggis or so I'm told. There vicious beasts who will stop at nothing to get fresh city dwellers blood as they've became accustomed to country folks blood. The only way to save yourself is to shout "och aye the noo" really loud. But you have to be able to pronounce och really well. Och as in loch but not lock. If you say lock then they will have no mercy and you'll be drained quicker than a bottle of bucky that the beasts also love to swally on a Friday night with there pal peely wally.
Thank you DP I enjoy All your stories which are actually scary. A few narrators that I used to like seem to Only tell stories about preteens and creepy guys. I don't know a female who hasn't had some type of experience like that, it's Not a scary story it's called life. Use common sense and you will be fine. If it's serious it should be a police report but Not a "scary" story . So glad none of those are here!!!! Because This is a quality channel!

this is true because an aquaintance of an accountant of my aunt who also had a brother whose acquaintance i actually talked to vaguely claimed to know a guy who had a step sister whose nephew in law knew a dog whose owner knew a local detective who also knew a pharmacist in a lab who knew a patient who got some info about all this from his doctor who knew a policemen who knew a guy from the millitary.

My lights on all time also or some form of it. Freaked a few days back when flashing but my paranoia dawned human tampering so investigated. Neighbors were touching electrical boxes outside. It is incorrectly labelled so let them know it was mine.
I am Scottish. I have climbed all of the mountains in the park and regularly wildcamp in this area on multiday climbs. As we say in Scotland. This story is 'pure pish'. The end.

I'd say it was quarry work. Strings of explosions can be heard during heavy excavative quarry work.
Very similar to the park rangers story of a week-long occurrence where he worked. First in clean of the creature's existence was the European couple vacationing finding him and his partner in their station, covered in soot and scratches. Saying a tree attacked them. The physical description of his knee creature is different, but the similarities are with the soot covered victims and odd burning smell. I believe it was a Darkness prevails read story also. Please, someone tell me they also connected these two stories.

I'm a scotsman many a time I've been up the cairngorms glen co glen doll. I've never said anything to anyone as I'm not sure why I felt the way I did. On a few occasions I really felt we were being followed by something unseen . Branches snapping a horrible stench I can't place and the constant feeling of being watched and strange sounds that is not local wildlife ex deer fox etc. We always go in groups so maybe that's why I haven't saw anything. Love this one. Some of the other stories you read get boring with the same old "forest got quiet, then i ran from a wendigo" formula. This one was different, SCP-y, and good.

I've been to the Cairngorms and spent more than a few nights camping there. I've never seen anything strange but I am willing to bet if people have gone missing it is likely down to the rapidly changing weather catching people off-guard or possibly some weird loner surviving out there and grabbing someone.
Btw the mention of cameras suggests the person writing this story has no clue about the area. The Cairngorms are huge, it's a big forest with very few people around so there are no cameras (other than the occasional game trap).
It's a mountain range and national park too..sooo big.. my hubby n I drive up there sometimes.. beautiful scenery..camping though..no thanks..I hate camping..spent whole night hyper vigilant to every noise I heard last time..too much of an over active imagination..think it's great ppl wild camp though.

Wild camping is great but sadly illegal in most areas of the UK. We really have the most stupid laws. Fortunately the Cairngorms are one of the areas a person can camp freely and in my experience it is a wonderful place to spend some time.
It's easy to find an area where no one else is camping and spend some time looking at the stars and generally relaxing. I took my then girlfriend and now wife up to the Cairngorms and we had a lovely quiet time.
If you're not used to camping in the middle of nowhere then you are very likely to have a bad night because your nerves will be on edge. If however you enjoy being in the middle of nowhere then it's very relaxing.
I do however think it's possible that some nut jobs and/or dangerous people may flee to such an area in order to avoid the law. Such people would of course prey upon innocent campers they come across but such situations are likely one in a million.
