The story where the narrator freed the wolf/coyote was my favorite; the creature repaid the narrator's kindness by protecting him from whatever had been chasing him.

He should be more then grateful and now hopefully the wolf he sees is the wolf’s ghost watching over him, protecting him

I do feel bad that the wolf likely lost its life fighting that thing.

Darkness has no idea about the power his comforting voice wields, because not only does he help me wind down(I'm a severe depressant with anxiety)but he helps my daughter and 3 yr old granddaughter slip off into a comforting serene sleep....then the next day, we'll get up and listen to the same video while doing household chores and exercising. 🤗❤

The story of the boys on the trail, they need to be grateful! That was no ordinary spirit. That was no witch! That was an angel! Angels have a scent. It's a floral scent, yet undiscribable. I've experienced this. The smell is the most beautiful smell! And the angel I saw was a male. He was the most beautiful person I have ever seen! You automatically love them. You feel a child like spirit coming from them. So to the young person who sent in this story,you said you still see her from time to time. That is your guardian angel! She is always with you.
That second story with the dog was interesting. I almost thought the dog was another cryptid that was now protecting the storyteller from a much more dangerous cryptid.
Perfect timing Darkness Prevails and these stories will never get old IMO. Everytime I listen to one of these I get pretty freaked out honestly.

The wolf/dog seemed somewhat tame (or maybe not just a wolf?). Personally, as soon as I realized the wolf had no intention of hurting me, and was actually protecting me, I would not have abandoned it in its life and death fight without trying to return the favor of helping it.

That was no witch... that was a fae. My thoughts on this are that they stumbled into a thin spot between this place and where the fae reside. The woman showed them kindness that is almost unheard of for the fae, guided them through a shortcut and the fog got thicker either so they wouldn't see much or because they were going smack dab through the middle of it. They are very lucky they didn't thank her. But I think that was another kindness on her part.She disappeared before they had the chance.
Why shouldn't they have thanked her? is it like a fae trickster thing where a debt would be instilled?

@@gumfry2386 Well two reasons... they can and will take it as you owe them a debt or it take it as an insult thanking them may dilute their act of kindness or whatever they have done for you.
@@ttheresaa It is kind of another word for fairies, some people use the words interchangeably. Fae means their whole race Gnomes, Redcaps, Brownies, Banshees, Dryads, and more.

Honestly if I got lost in the woods with a buddy or two and a flash light I'd be fine. But by myself with no light, I wouldn't be find. I would just lay down and cry. (1st rule about being lost, stay put. Someone will come)
That last story just about made me panic. i keep hoping that some of these are fiction and not real.
They're all fiction, if the goof about the GPS having "no reception" didn't tip you off.
I liked to explore woods in daylight so i could see everything such as wild flowers, animals and the terrain.
Living in the Ocala national Forrest my whole childhood listening to these stories makes me feel better about experiences

Grew up in the middle of nowhere, not too hard to find your way back if you actually pay attention to where you're going lol
I'm not bad at finding my way, but I suck at judging distances, especially without any landmark and when walking up and downhill in a wood. It really frustrates me when I get at a crossing and don't know if it's already the crossing on the map, or another one of those not on my map... I've come across fading road signs, ripped out ones, ones that were useless (obscure names on them such as giving paths name, but not mentioning any destinations) and many missing ones...

The amount of people the willingly go into the woods without any protection like a gun is staggering. Like a knife could be considered protection but i don't really view a knife as adequate protection especially against a bear or any of the number of various types of monsters people run into in the woods.
