    Hey Steve, Using a grinder with cutting disc without a guard is playing Russian roulette. I speak from experience as I now have a little finger that had it tendons cut and now is permanently bent at the first knuckle. Safety first, keep all your fingers second and cutting a roof third.

    It wld be cool if someone made a car like this without chopping it! Since everyone chops them... it's still badass tho! Idk if I cld chop it I'd probaly have a heart attack! I cringed when I did a norcal on my fenders an cut a hole in my bed for quick fuel pump access lol!!!

    Absolute sacrilege......4" would have been plenty. Making another rat rod out of a good Henry steel body is simply sacrilege. The rubbish these guys build is an absolute joke.

    • @freedomsnotfreefreedomsnot2296
      @freedomsnotfreefreedomsnot2296 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You again,look you don't even live in the US. So,you said 4inches would have been plenty and at the same time your calling it sacrilege. Keep in mind that these cars would just rust away into nothing and they are putting them back on the road. Doing it the way they want to and your opinion really doesn't mean anything. I like all hot rods and when you build a hot rod you are modifying it in one form or another. Don't worry yourself,here in the states there are alot of original cars from that era that are in museums and owners that still keep them original. Millions of these cars were built.

    • @myredute
      @myredute 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@freedomsnotfreefreedomsnot2296 I know how many Model A's where built...4.8 million,but many where recycled for the war effort & they are becoming fewer & fewer. I mentioned sacrilege because when you get a nice straight '30 or '31 5 window coupe it seems a god damn shame to turn it into a "rat rod". I've seen what this guy does & the junk yards he visits to build them & it leaves me wondering what might have been. Now,how about we let this banter go.You like what you like,I like & build cars that win shows & attract attention for the owners. I can build a "rat rod" too,but we have a different taste here in Oz,a bit more like Foose Design, Builder of the Decade. Seeya!!

    • @freedomsnotfreefreedomsnot2296
      @freedomsnotfreefreedomsnot2296 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@myredute Look I said that I like and appreciate all old cars that are put back on the road and it does not to me on how that is accomplished. Chip Foose is a great car builder,but he highly modifys body lines,roofs,and extends bodies. Only difference really is an overpriced interior and paintjob. Chip is very respectful to people who just simply put old cars back on the road. Not everyone has had the opportunities that he has had,he is very humble and understands that. So I ask you,what the hell is with you and your egotistical attitude? You are not better than anyone else.

    Hey Steve, in Australia if we do a turret replacement we have to stagger the cuts for inner and outer panels in the pillars then re plug weld the spot welds on the edges. Takes a while to measure but makes it easy to hold together with vicegrips and makes it nice and strong. Love ya work!

    Hey love seeing all the stuff that you guys do is looks awesome, I just wanted to ask it you had any tips on building rat rods like what kind of motor to use or what kind of frames. I haven’t started building mine yet I’m still getting advice from different people.

    • @WelderUpVegas
      @WelderUpVegas  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's the best way to go about it. Talk to the Rat Rodders and look closely at their creations. Everyone is different and it depends on the type of car or truck you are building. It's important that you use your imagination create it as your piece of Art. The junk yard will never look the same to you after you discover the treasures there, that will look perfect on your build. That gives you the satisfaction and pride you feel when finished. Yes, keep getting advise from your buddies that build them.

    • @bradleyurquhart5320

      WelderUp it is awesome to hear back from you I’m planning on getting some stuff off of your website soon, thank for your advice, there is not to many rat rod around where I live it more so hot rod here. I have 1946 and a 1949 international KB trucks the only thing missing is the box and rear fenders. The 46 belonged to my grandfather he gave it to me before he passed away, I would love to restore it to original and have the 49 as the rat rod

    • @WelderUpVegas
      @WelderUpVegas  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is exactly what you should do. Bring back you Grandfathers truck, that way you will always have him with you. The 49 would make a nice Rat. You will get addicted and it will wake you from your sleep with your next idea.
