Everyone’s Favorite Pizza Dip

  • Okay, when I tell you that a scoop of this Pizza Dip tastes exactly like biting into a piece of pizza, I’m not lying! Y’all, it’s uncanny. You’ve got all the crucial elements, marinara, pepperonis, and all the cheeses. And you can add as many other toppings as your heart desires. Make it supreme with a few extra veggies, or go the meat-lovers route by adding some cooked ground beef. Basically, you can’t go wrong and you can’t lose with this one.

    So… there are four, I repeat, four different types of cheese in this Pizza Dip. Anything with that much of everyone’s favorite ingredient is bound to be amazing. On the off chance that you somehow still need some convincing, let me tell you about the marinara. When it comes to this sauce, easy is an understatement. No stovetop work is required and you can whip it up in about five minutes. Plus, that fresh basil? A huge game-changer.
    Alright, enough talking. Get yourself to the grocery store (I’m sure there is something you needed to go for anyway!) and get cooking! It’s the perfect appetizer for a party or game day but honestly, who’s going to be mad if you just make it for a random treat?
    Here’s what you’ll need:
    * 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
    * ¼ cup heavy cream
    * 1 ½ cups shredded Mozzarella cheese
    * 1 ¼ teaspoons Kosher salt, separated
    * 1 cup tomato sauce
    * 1 tablespoon minced basil
    * 2 teaspoons sugar
    * ½ teaspoon black pepper
    * 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    * ¼ teaspoon onion powder
    * 1 (8-ounce) ball or log of fresh Mozzarella cheese
    * 15-20 pepperoni slices
    * ⅓ cup grated Parmesan cheese
    How to make Pizza Dip:
    Get your oven preheating to 375° and grease a small au gratin dish or 9-inch pie plate.
    Grab a medium bowl and mix up the cream cheese, grated mozzarella, cream, and ½ a teaspoon salt with a hand mixer. Transfer this mixture to the prepared dish and spread it to the edges. You can set this aside until later.
    Now you’ll make that easy marinara! Get yourself a small mixing bowl and add the tomato sauce, fresh basil, sugar, and the rest of the spices. Give this a stir and pour it over the cream cheese layer in the baking dish.
    Next, you are going to remove the excess moisture from the fresh mozzarella. You’ll do this by tearing it into little pieces and spreading it out over a few paper towels, covering it with another layer of paper towels, and gently pressing down on it.
    Sprinkle the fresh mozzarella over the sauce, reserving about ⅓ of it. Add the pepperonis, the rest of the mozzarella, and top it off with the parmesan.
    Pop it in the oven for 20-25 minutes or until the cheese is nice and bubbly. If you want to brown it up a bit, feel free to turn on your broiler for a few minutes but don’t take your eyes off it! Serve with toasted baguette slices and enjoy!
