I guess I live close to the Red River of the South, as it enters Louisiana and separates Shreveport from Bossier City and Alexandria from Pineville. And here I always thought this was a cowboy campfire song, separating Oklahoma from Texas. 🎼🎵🔥🏕

Please don't shoot my head off for asking this question, but this song sounds a lot like Stephen Foster's "Old Folks at Home" played at a faster speed. Isn't it basically the same tune?
