This is gold!! I would love to know how all these stars got together for this! Thank you for posting! I got fooled soo bad when he did his first "impression" of Buster Keaton...ha ha, I was thinking, "Wow, he looks JUST LIKE HIM!" XD LOVE Buster so much, and....Rudolph Freakin' Valentino, Douglas Fairbanks? Omg, crazy awesome!
OMG! rudolph valentino, buster keaton and lastly but not least HAROLD LLOYD omg he was so cute very cute doin his little dance ^_^ and don't get me wrong the others were really good looking 2
This is great, thanks! Very amusing that he would be Jackie Coogan at the end. :-p I had never seen anything with Harold Lloyd and my favorite, Buster Keaton, together. :)
Lol! Hope seeing this makes you check out "THE Kid", the Chaplin classic from 1921; it's a priceless classic. Little Jackie was such a natural and one of the very few who Chaplin truly "co-starred" with. I thought this had to be later than 1921 (and going by other posters' comments, it was 1925) since Jackie looked a little bigger than he did in the movie. Never seen or heard of this little film before; thank you SO much for sharing (love how Buster was on FIRST!
The cut always occurs when he puts on the wig. He puts it on, then ducks down; the next person you see is the real star. Love the way Fairbanks jumps over the table!
So that's really THEM right??? I was thinking "man, it looks JUST like them, there's no way it's all one guy!" What gave it away was the difference in heights. Jackie Coogan is no taller than the desk, but Valentino towers over it.
Oh man, I did the exact same thing. I was fooled big time, ha ha! As soon as I saw "Buster Keaton" turn sideways and saw his profile, I had to go back and freeze the video, thinking, "Waiiiit a minute...no one has that profile/face but the real Buster." Ha ha. Unbelievable upload, I will probably watch this a million times now. :P
This short can be found (with excellent commentary) on the Laughsmith DVD "Industrial Strength Keaton", along with a lot of other great rarities, and I hope this clip encourages you to buy it. I persuaded two friends to pick up copies just to get this short. Regardless, though, I hope as many fans and potential new fans as possible get to see this great piece of film history while it's here.
at 2:14 you can see where they stopped the camera while he's dressing as Fatty Arbuckle. The edit is really bad cause the jacket on the coatrack shifts positions.
A Everyone who knows of this surprisingly entertaining film short believes it was made around 1925.but iam not one of them, after watching this little but very enjoyable film i'd noticed the costumes on these great stars from this first era of american movies is that mr.fairbanks costume is from robin hood. jackie's outfit from oliver twist and harold;'s suit is the same black one he wore in near the end of dr. jack and most of safety last!. and buster's suit is a fitting version of his garb from his shorts period and three ages. so i'm really assuming this was filmed probably in the 1922-1923 season.
Just looked up Carter De Haven on Wiki and it mentioned this character study as being filmed in 1923. Imdb lists it as 1927, as its public release, but also says it was filmed two years earlier, in 1925 for a party thrown by Douglas Fairbanks and Mary Pickford. 1925 sounds about right! ;)
Keaton & Lloyd in the same film...a rare gem. Of course they were real life pals to the end of their lives.....
omg amazing!!! buster and harold ❤ my favs
Just watched this again, and it's still GREAT fun - and nice that Mr. De Haven had some very good and HANDSOME "assistants"! ;-)
This is one of the cutest silent clips I've seen. What a gem! Thanks for posting.
Oh, Buster!!! ♥
Lisa Strong 🥰🥰🥰

Love Harold's jig from the Freshman! :)
7 people must have accidentally hit the dislike button. What is there to dislike? This is the best!
The down votes are from people who have no CLUE about the priceless jewel they are watching. ;)
I finally get to sort of see Uncle Fester as a kid!
I loved this!! So cool, especially to see my favourite, Rudolph Valentino!! Thanks for posting!!
i love the way Buster combed hair
He was so smooth and efficient, wasn't he?
According to the IMDb, it was made in 1925 for a party given by Pickford and Fairbanks.
LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!
aw this totally cheered me up =] first of all i was like 'hey this guy *really* looks like Buster!' then i got it lol Harold Lloyd's dance is ace!
That is a magnific retrospective of the the stars from the cinema's beginning. That was a pleasure to see this movie.
Thank you.

Me too, Buster Fan!!
1:53 Harold does the "Freshman"s dance.
Stupendo grazie per averlo messo!!!
Splendid, simply splendid. Harold, Rudy, and Jackie Coogan were the best. This is where it all started
What a great switcheroo!!
You can say that again! Wow! Awesome video! Thanks!

You should see him made up as Luke the Dog.
Simply amazing! However did you do this!? I'm so happy you put Harold Lloyd in here! He is my fave! And very cute charming clip you have of him!
Loved it!! I will put it in my favorites! Thanks so much for sharing!!
Love! Love! Love!

It would have been later - Harold Lloyd is doing the little jig from "The Freshman", and that film was released in 1925.
Really really good and funny ;) I love Rudolph Valentino and the Kid, so cute !
This just made me laugh. Terrific concept.
i love the way Fatty thrown the egg
nobody can grin like Fairbanks
*sigh* oh Buster....:D
Che effetti speciali che c'erano prima. Altro che computer graphic!
Luv Rudy. :)
Hello! I'm also a big Rudy fan :)
Love it! :D
I think charlie chaplin in this would be over the budget :)

It's pretty apparent that these are the actual stars and not just some guy dressing up like them. What's the story? Anybody know?
Correction: jackie's outfit is from the kid i assume.
Yep!
@themanfromwyoming
Hollywood churned out it's share of crap back then too. It's classics like this that survive.
WHat a fun video.
style MISSION IMPOSSIBLE
Chuck would never inter-mingle with other comedians!
Great video clip and I've given you five stars. I've created a video clip featuring Douglas Fairbanks and many other 1920's movie stars.
Amazing!!!
Con Chaplin esto hubiera sido una maravilla.
What is "Valentino Rarities" and do you know where I can buy it? Thanks for any info.

You mean he was invited to do it and he turned it down? Why didn't he want to do it?
It's a shame Chaplin was too much of a shit-heal to play along!
where's Charlie Chaplin?
I hope Charlie Chaplin was not missing from this because he thought too highly of himself or something. I hope he was just busy and couldn't do it.
