@@Jmac_Strength_and_Fitness Not to me, I've been saying this for years. Superman is very powerful, and it's very easy for him to look scary. From what Ive read and seen in interviews with James Gunn, he stated that this world is established with super heroes before Superman comes on the scene. The characters they showed seemed to be part of Justice Society or maybe JLA from the 80s (tied to corporate entities). Hey, Sithfurion, great to see you reacting to this. I'm going to miss your reactions to Banshee, but you reacted to other favourites of mine since, including Alien: Romulus, and your reactions are still great. You are still one of the few reactors I have stuck with. I have looked at too many otherwise. I too have mixed reactions about this Superman movie. On the one hand, I am not sure, on the other hand, it does look great. I am in two minds. On another note, good to hear about your girlfriend moving in with you soon, that's obviously big for you.
Thing is superman is more iconic and so will get more pushback, I like the suit it's his early years obviously it's homemade by ma or pa Kent but the snyder superman started with kryptonian material and now anything that's not skin tight and patterned gets crapped on
im honestly surprised about the amount of people complaining about his suit. clearly I dont see the issue. spidermans nanotech suit is the only suit in superhero history that I genuinely hate. lol and I only hate his suit because it looks so damn fake. as much as I hate hollands primary suit, that is the least of my worries when it comes to those films. like, did you really watch this trailer, enjoy the fuck out of it, but the suit really made you question everything? why do you care to that level?
The suit is clearly different between the opening scene and scenes that take place later in the movie. The opening suit is probably his first attempt at making a 'supersuit'.
You criticised the suit and then when talking about his hair and age answered why the suit without realising it, the reason looks like a onesie its early superman like in the comics, its made by ma kent.
1. I don't know what the hell you're talking about with the suit because it's the most accurate in film since Reeves, and it's beautiful. On top of that, usually the first suit is worse so they can progressively upgrade it. Captain America in the Avengers in 2012 had a fucking pajama, so I don't know why you don't complain about that. The suit is incredible and will get better eventually. 2. DC doesn't need everything to be R-rated, people have misconceptions that think everything in DC is darker and has to be R-rated. Superman, Supergirl, Booster Gold, etc., aren't R-rated characters; Swamp Thing, Batman: The Brave and the Bold, The Authority, Waller, etc., maybe Lanterns, will be R-rated. DC, just like Marvel, has R-rated characters and others who are more lighthearted. 3. He's 6'4 and much bigger than Cavill. Look at the pictures of him shirtless, his arms and shoulders are bigger than Cavill's, so again, I don't know what you're talking about. The decision of not having padding and a latex skin-tight suit like Cavill's, most likely because a big inspiration for this film is All Star Superman, and he doesn't have a suit that shows a lot of muscle in that comic. I don't care, this suit is great, and like I said, most likely it will get better. This teaser made me cry and this is the real Superman, and I am glad we now have JG who is someone competent at writing, directing, and knows, loves, and more importantly respect these characters. From the other movie writer and director he has hired, I’ve loved everything, the DCU is in the right hands. And yes, that GL that you don’t seem to know is Guy Gardner, and his hairstyle in a lot of the comics is that ridiculous. Hal is played by Kyle Chandler, who is an older and veteran GL, who is known as a legend, and will be mentoring John, who is young and most likely the main GL, played by Aaron Pierre, who became famous thanks to his Netflix film this year, "Rebel Ridge." When I saw it, I knew he was going to be John; everyone wanted him. You should watch it and react, it's great. And this is a stand-alone Superman film. The story is about Superman and Lois and Lex, the others are there to show that this world already has superheroes, and they are corporate, by Maxwell Lord, and Superman will be the exception, as he does it because it’s the right thing, he is hope, so it is a good choice.
One mess up. Nathan Fillion is GUY Garner. Not Kyle Chandler. You can tell clear as day it is Nathan. Haha! Outside that, I completely agree with ALL you said, and I am glad more tried and true Supes fans are defending the REAL Superman finally being hiamelf.
@ I didn't mess up anything, reread my comment, you read it wrong. I never said Nathan wasn’t Guy, I just said that he didn’t seem to know Guy and that his hairstyle is like that.
It's suppose to be a corporate team up justice league like Vought from The boys. Superman shows up and become the beacon of light and what it means to be a hero.
The suit is fine. The first time we see it in the teaser is clearly after Superman had his ass whipped, so the suit is gonna be looking rough too. I think it’s being overblown.
Actually the suit is a Frankenstein of various suits that have appeared over the years- the collar and the line work of the new 52 - the emblem design from Kingdom Come with the yellow border of the Fleischer cartoons - the classic colors of the Golden Age and Silver Age. Also look at Captain America's costumes - different in every movie - they sell more toys. this won't be the only suit.
That’s the Character Guy Gardner. The best Green Lantern. Most fearless human a perfect GL. At the time it was him and Hal were decided upon at the same time. Usually only one green lantern per planet:Galaxy. (Been awhile I could be wrong lol). But yeah, that was Guy Gardners haircut in the comics. Looks bad yeah but I respect them keeping it pretty much on point w/comics style.
I'm pretty sure Kryptonite is also part of the reason Superman is so weak in the begging after a fight. Maybe some was stuck in him during the fight cause usually the sun would of given him more strength by now. Specially that breathing and such. I'm thinking maybe Lex made Kryptonite bullets for that revolver and shot a bullet in him while he was fighting someone else. Just my theory.
Look at the costume for Superman and the Authority mini-series. It's a Superman tee-shirt, leather biker gloves and what looks like blue jeans and (cue Edna Mode) no cape. It looks bad ass - but normies are going to say WTF if they used that for the movie. The suit doesn't make or break the character. It's showing damage in the trailer - it's going to change.
I’ve been against trunks for ages and I still am for say someone like Batman but I just love David’s explanation for why he asked James for them to be incuded, totally turned my opinion upside down on the trunks
He didnt set out to follow MCU's example, the projects will all do worldbuilding but still be mostly able to stand on their own and not pieces of an over arching singular threat. The other heroes arent going to take focus away from superman, James said it's still a superman film, not an ensemble/team. Let him cook.
I seriously don’t understand why people put so much investment in the suit. You can like it or not like it in terms of the design, sure, but for it to seemingly make or break the character is so fucking weird. Does he look unmistakably like Superman? Yes. I would bet that, by the end of the movie, the suit is going to be the last thing anyone talks about.
For the future, I think you should do your DD before doing reactions. How do you not know, Mr. Terrific, Metamorpho and UltraMan that's fighting Supes in the stadium.
Darkside can hurt Superman so much without kryptonite stones because he himself is made of kryptonite. Lex Luther can do the same with his kryptonite-powered suit. I don't think Superman has to flee so far when he gets hurt, when it's just someone with a stone in his hand.
When MCU started, the A tier heroes at the time weren't available to Marvel to make a movie (Spider Man, Fantastic 4, X Men). So Feige had to start with origin movies for Iron Man, Capt America and Thor who weren't nearly as well known. Everyone already knows who Superman is.
The suit probably looks "cheap" or "ill fitting" to you because it isn't padded or hyper-tightened to the point of being hard to move in. It fits like real clothes worn directly on the body, made to move around in. Real clothes fold and bunch and - where tight - flatten muscles. That's realism. The awkwardness of the suit is a choice, because it's real. Verisimilitude over "aesthetic perfection". I still think Kick-Ass had the best costume design out of any comic book superhero movie. The costumes looked real and replaceable and made the world feel lived in. This isn't that same DIY aesthetic, but it's following a similar design philosophy to a degree. All I want to know is what the in-story origin for this suit is. Did his mom make it? Is it a Kryptonian ceremonial suit of some kind? Was it printed by the crystal computer in the Fortress of Solitude? Did Mr. Terrific make it? I just hope that part matches the look of it. I don't care if the suit doesn't look perfect. I think that's an overrated factor. The fact that it looks nonthreatening is more important, just in terms of the visual impact. Tobey's second suit took me out of the movie because it appeared out of nowhere in a smash cut and looked like it was made by a Hollywood costume designer with resources that Peter Parker wouldn't be likely to have.
I think his suit is fine. But I also think he will attain a newer suit near the end. I theorize that this is a suit that was issued to him by the government. If you look, you can see that the other super heroes are in similarly styled suits. Which would mean that they are working as a team possibly overseen by that government entity. So they all look similar. But I think Superman will eventually have to break apart from this team so he can discover himself. Then of course reform in a future movie with THE Justice League. This movie looks like it features the beginnings of a Justice League that quite doesn't have it together.
THANKS for your reaction video. (-: I say this light heartedly, but why is everyone some obsessed with the suit? Go back to 1978 and watch the original Chris Reeves' Superman movies, everyone. Isn't that what everyone has been screaming for over the past 15 years or so? To get Superman back to his original look from comic books to the original Reeves' series!
The crossover - which was an event in the 1960s - is a thing of the past - today a superhero can't blow his nose without another hero handing him a kleenex.. The characters you see are essentially cameos (probably even less than the ones in Deadpool and Wolverine); It's a Superman stand alone movie in the context of a broader picture of the world. Is Captain America: Civil War not a Captain America movie? In a story where Brainiac starts shrinking London, Raris, Rome and New York - and DC is publishing comics with Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter and Green Arrow^ why is Superman the only hero to show up and fight him? Essentially the same thing happened when Galactus showed up and only the Fantastic Four battled him - even worse since all the other heros were based out of New York. But that was the state of 1960's comics. Look at the Snyderverse - massive destruction by superpowered beings all over the world in Man of Steel. In Batman v Superman we learn of the existence of other heros who were available but not a one of them showed up to help. That's effed up. * The story was just shy of the 1st appearance of the Silver Age Green Lantern.
i really think if he had hade Henrys suit whit the color in this trailer, the trailer would be 100%, there is something whit that one that says its not made on Earth, this suit looks like a jacket. it can also be a First suit kind of thing like the first episode of superman and Lois seriers where he says "thx, my mom made it" so bye the end of this film we vill se "THE SUIT", but yeah im more hoppfull that the Movie will be good.
The suit does kinda remind me of Peters first home made Spider-Man suit in Civil War before Tony gives him one lol. But I actually kinda like it. But im not a big Superman fan, so my opinion doesnt really matter haha
Technically - The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker are the start of the new DCCU - there is only one scene in Peacemaker that needs to be retconned - and the character may have been hallucinating. YOU NEED TO WATCH PEACEMAKER - I at least need to see your reaction to the opening/the sequence.
It can't be stand alone. Movies get it wrong all the time. It's an established world where superheroes are common place. There are heroes already, if the world is in trouble why would superman be the only person in it. It's kind of like saying why have Lois in it, it's a superman movie. They are supporting characters in a developed world.
It's Comic accurate My Daughter and I Loved this Krypto made me cry.Christopher Reeves best Cavill crap brooding dark dropped buildings on.people hello Superman is hope light goodness in fact Peter Parker derived from Clark Kent Stan Lee said so.Lois looks awesome
Do you really *need* a full-blown film for miscellaneous minor superheroes? Like, an entire, feature-length film, with a budget of millions of dollars, for every spandex-wearing weirdo in a shared universe? You can handle Guy Gardner's whole deal in under fifteen seconds. "That's Guy Gardner. He's a Green Lantern. He looks like an asshole, and acts like one too. Punch him in the nose sometime - it'll be *hilarious.* Boom, done. DC is *struggling.* They want to make a film that incorporates elements of other comics and properties to *reconstruct* Superman, and re-launch a new cinematic universe. They don't have the time or gummy bears to make full-on films of every rando to fill out a thematic refutation of properties like "The Boys" or "Invincible." They've got their big tent lined up - Supes, Bats, Supergirl, etc. - and if someone like Hawkgirl resonates with audiences in this movie, *then* greenlight a movie for her.
David did bulk up to 240 pounds plus hes the tallest actor to play superman next to reeve at 6'3 What is all this body shaming about man? And to answer your question about all the characters James gunn has stated that ultimately the story is centered around clark, lois and lex Other characters are just supporting characters like any other movie Mr terrific the guy at the end is said to be the only really important character out of the supporting characters
Nathan Fillion is playing Guy Gardner and in some comics he has that awful hair. I think the suit looks like that exactly because this is his begining and with time he will get a better one.
That haircut is comic accurate for Green Lantern Guy Gardner
Also, he isn't supposed to be liked. So the haircut really drives that home. It will be more apparent in the movie when all is said and done.

I enjoyed ur reaction
The suit is fine. The first time we see it in the teaser is clearly after Superman had his ass whipped, so the suit is gonna be looking rough too. I think it’s being overblown.
Actually the suit is a Frankenstein of various suits that have appeared over the years- the collar and the line work of the new 52 - the emblem design from Kingdom Come with the yellow border of the Fleischer cartoons - the classic colors of the Golden Age and Silver Age.
Also look at Captain America's costumes - different in every movie - they sell more toys. this won't be the only suit.
The theme got me excited, but I'm hesitant with a new universe and supe, happy to see the noti
Long time no see!
Awesomeness
Hello brotha. Why did you leave your channel DarkerImage Games? There are no new videos, I'm curious why. Glad you're doing good
I'm pretty sure Kryptonite is also part of the reason Superman is so weak in the begging after a fight. Maybe some was stuck in him during the fight cause usually the sun would of given him more strength by now. Specially that breathing and such. I'm thinking maybe Lex made Kryptonite bullets for that revolver and shot a bullet in him while he was fighting someone else. Just my theory.
Your SEGA geek shirt is dope, brother. 👍👍👍
So awesome ❤
For the future, I think you should do your DD before doing reactions. How do you not know, Mr. Terrific, Metamorpho and UltraMan that's fighting Supes in the stadium.
Darkside can hurt Superman so much without kryptonite stones because he himself is made of kryptonite. Lex Luther can do the same with his kryptonite-powered suit.
I don't think Superman has to flee so far when he gets hurt, when it's just someone with a stone in his hand.
The suit looks fucking amazing. It looks real
He did brightburn too basically an evil version of superman
I could care less what the suit looks like. His powers are what’s important.
Maybe the suit looks like that because he made it by hand - kind of like the first Spidey suit.
I'm curious how they will incorporate so many characters seamlessly
Is luthor running some sort of super hero recruitment militia program?
Who better than James Gunn hence Guardians Of The Galaxy
lets hope this superman doesnt just sit back and watch his dad die
i personally dont think the suit looks bad at all. also he did bulk up quite a bit, the suit was intentionally not fitted perfectly.
I'm wondering why they made Superman's suit look like it doesn't completely fit him I hope Gunn has a good explanation for this.
Welcome back
People need to quit diving the suit a hard time - it has sentimental valve - his mom made it (according to the comics).
Yes sirree ! Shxt suit ... great teaser ... Hope you are watching Geeky Weekly :-) Us geeks got to stick together
Uh that suit is perfect
I don’t get the hate on the suit. I’m tired of seeing a suit that looks so ridiculously hard to put on. Cavils suit wa so skin tight it made no sense
It can't be stand alone. Movies get it wrong all the time. It's an established world where superheroes are common place. There are heroes already, if the world is in trouble why would superman be the only person in it. It's kind of like saying why have Lois in it, it's a superman movie. They are supporting characters in a developed world.
Look up Guy Gardner - the Green Lantern on the cover of- Justice League International #1 - maybe it's way too comic accurate
Corenswet fought for the trunks, Gunn didn't want them. I enjoy their return. Comic accurate. I don't mind that it's loose fitting, either.
Henry Cavill is an Amazing Superman and his Suit is 100 times better! Corenswet has some huge shoes to feel! 🤷♂️
Punch him in the nose sometime - it'll be *hilarious.*
Boom, done.
David did bulk up to 240 pounds plus hes the tallest actor to play superman next to reeve at 6'3
What is all this body shaming about man?
And to answer your question about all the characters
James gunn has stated that ultimately the story is centered around clark, lois and lex
Other characters are just supporting characters like any other movie
Mr terrific the guy at the end is said to be the only really important character out of the supporting characters
Nathan Fillion is playing Guy Gardner and in some comics he has that awful hair.
I think the suit looks like that exactly because this is his begining and with time he will get a better one.
