It sounds more like he's a mortician and he's marveling at how beautiful he made her for presentation, even though she's already dead and falling apart, or decaying. ;)
These guys are so cool, was lucky enough to set up and work them in Shreveport la. Wish they had more traction, this a legendary song.

This song is a representation of what your Ego is saying to you. Your Ego wants you to be motionless, emotionless. It wants to fall apart at the seams, because as you do, you allow him more control. And sadly, we all have, we're born this way. Our mission is to find our heart, our soul, before we pine away. Problem is, hardly a soul knows you have to "break your heart" to open it, and your ego will always point you away from it. So, this is how I chose to take this song. We are all dead inside, until we die (metaphorically), and are reborn with a heart.
Okay, so I always took the lyrics to this symbolically. As if she were a statue to him. She's cold, emotionless, and he's watching her while she is asleep, and he's framing her in his mind as beautiful and young in that state, because he knows she'll be gone in the morning. Also, I took the part where he said, "I feel good about you not telling anyone," as saying that he's okay with the fact that she's keeping their affair secret, as long as he could have her for one night. Then, I looked at the comment section and someone said that it was about a serial killer, and I feel like I over thought this one. lol. I never once took the lyrics literally, but it does make sense. I'm always in for a new view on things, especially if it's morbid.

Why, "especially of it's morbid"?
I kind of always associate this with vampires, which I know is strange. He fell in love with the vampire who turned him but he's realized that love is hollow and he's miserable being trapped in her lair. Sounds dumb, but that's what came to mind for me.
@@etinarcadiaego7424 This description me slightly in mind of The Curse by Josh Ritter, but that's about a mummy that takes the energy of a woman when she finds him and she ends up dying and he ends up living. They have sort of like a platonic love story going on in it.

Singer Mike Protich explained to The Pulse Of Radio that the idea for "Emotionless" came to him in his sleep. "This one was a dream that I had and it was very haunting," he said. "It was a very clear visual, you know, of a woman laying on a bed, and I knew in the dream that I loved that woman but I didn't know who it was. It was kind of a faceless person. I couldn't tell if she was dead or she was sleeping, so I came up with this concept that she was just emotionless there. That song was actually written back in 2009 or '10, it's an old song that we kind of brought out of the bag and made it work."
I wish the radio wouldn't cut out so much of the solo.

True if you take it literally. I hear it a little differently because I feel like it describes my life and the way I act in order to not rock the boat. Everything about me needs to be colorless, odorless and emotionless in order for me to survive. I allow my surroundings to absorb me and I just stay still so that no one will bother me ever again... But maybe I'm the only one getting that out of it.
I take this song in the most direct way and I fucking love it. Just perfect.

And also, why would he be talking about a cadaver when he says in the beginning of the song "With lips closed and eyes sealed, you're a sculpture with a pulse"? He is talking about being "Asleep", not seeing the world for what it really is, not really using our eyes to see, our lips to speak, but allowing our ego to control us. Waking up is realizing this is what is happening, and changing how you look at things. Being woke, in actuality, is just being more perceptive to what is really going on, rather than listening to what your mind is telling you is going on.
The saying is "You have to see to believe", right? No, I think they got that one wrong...I believe it is "You have to believe to see", doesn't that make more sense? Question why some people can see magic while others cannot...this will begin to make more sense of why its not all around us. That's because we're taught that magic doesn't exist, and we believe that, which, in turn, makes it our reality. Magic is all around us, whether you want to believe it or not, but you wont truly see it until you believe it.

I must be the only one that gets pedo vibes off of this song. He says he wants to capture the little one's essence, he feels good about them not telling anyone, and other creepy lyrics. Motionless, Emotionless is how I'd think someone, especially, a child would react to trauma they've had to endure for some time.
