Here in South America our neons have to be in acidic pH, unless the breeder tells you they're adapted to alkaline water. Guppys like alkaline and hard water. It seems unnatural to me to keep them both together (and with any tetras, tbh). Platys can also nip the fins of male guppies. The only one I would totally agree in this list would be the ottos and corys.

which would you recommend for a 20 gallon with 6 guppies (2 males 4 females)? i was thinking of doing some pygmy cory’s and some zebra danios but
I was wondering what you recommend and the amount i should get? i don’t want to over crowd my tank but i also don’t want any of my fish to be sad because they don’t have enough buddies
or do you think a 20 gallon isn’t going to be big enough for a guppy community tank? 😊

@@iiv.dannyboi Right now i do have them in a 20 gallon and they’ve been in there for a bit now, about 2 months, i was gonna move up to a 40 gallon tank but i have noticed that they aren’t exactly breeding or at least the babies aren’t surviving till adult hood or even teenagers. i believe they are eating the babies, although i don’t exactly mind as i don’t need a bunch of fish everywhere😅They were my pond fish over the summer that i brought in pretty early and when i was scooping them out, scooped out 3 babies and those r in a little breeding thingy in the big tank and they r slowly growing. but there’s no other babies than that. :/ i wonder if it is because the tank is smaller so the fish are eating them.
Do you think that a 40 gallon would be big enough? (right now there’s no fin nipping within my tank btw but i would just like them to have enough space to be comfortable)
