I’m not a gentleman, but I also find child’s pose very challenging. My hips just do not sit back on my feet. I’ve often felt like a yoga failure for struggling with such a “basic pose”, so I really appreciated your comments and suggestions.

Love this video. This is such a great tutorial - many teachers completely forget how hard this pose can be. You are such a terrific teacher and we always love your incorporation of props.

BTW, if someone asked me until yesterday who would I recommend as an online teacher for totally beginners I always suggested you. And here you are with this great series. I did Pilates for many years so I am used to some kind of exercise, but following yoga instruction is more difficult where you are a complete beginner in yoga, no matter what you have done before. You were and are a great teacher for me for this reason: you always speak to complete beginner filling a gap I found in many other channels or online platform. This series is gold . Thank you.

I love how real this is! Yes, put average people on these videos to show not all these poses are as simple as they are usually shown to be. Will subscribe because l don't know what to do and want to start yoga in order to help relax.

Tried the child pose and liked it, i’ve just been diagnosed with arterial fibrillation and I was wondering if there is any more poses that might help me? Thank you. Make yourself a good day.

Had a knee injury few months ago, so this pose is still challenging for me, even though I had no problems with it before the injured knee. But this video confirms that my temporary execution of this pose is still acceptable 😀 thank you so much!

oh my goodness, I've checked out lots of "how to" yoga videos, and you are so down-to-earth and easy-to-follow: I subscribed! Thank you, look forward to seeing many more. When I started doing this pose a couple months ago, well, not sure I was doing it right, but it hurt my knees at first, but I loved how it made my back feel! Now I do this two or three times a day, in-between other exercises, to catch my breath.

Thank you thank you thank you. I have been struggling with hip knee and lower back mobility for years and I always thought that I needed to force my body into a child's pose which ultimately ended up very uncomfortable. I am going to try what you did in this video and work my way into an independent child poles with a flexibility and releasing any trapped emotions that are along my spine and hips and pelvis.

Hi! What an excellent breakdown. Question: I never know what to do with my lower back/pelvis. I hips don't go all the way back, so do I engage the lower back to prevent from collapsing? OR do you engage and keep the spin straight?

Most of my pain is actually on the inside part of my ankle, in any pose that requires the toes stretched out like that and pressure being applied there.

I like this! No offence, but as a man with a body type more like his than the average yoga teachers, I find this to be a lot better than the videos where some teachers just assume that you can reach this and that with this and that limb. If you could do one on that damn easy pose with this or a simmilarly stiff man it would be really nice!

Not only my hips are reluctant to open even for a few degrees, but also I physically can't breathe in prone position. It's been that way since my birth. My thoracic cage is just too weak to sustain my lungs when facing down.
