I couldn't figure out why my rotary blade wasn't cutting even with the blade out. So excited I found this video now I know about the blue boxes showing. Thank you for making this video
This video was exactly what I was looking for! Thank you I have not been able to figure out how to get the rotary cutter to work and this video explained it perfectly. I'm trying to cut fabrics to be used as appliques, so I will be adding Heat n Bond to the back of the fabric. I'm going to experiment with scraps for a bit before tackling the actual project. It's a fabric kit so there is not room (or very little room) for error.
Thank you so much for watching!! I didn't make another video showing what I did with the fabric that I cut because I didn't get very much interest for it but I can definitely make a video for you if you'd like :)
Extra sticky may leave a lot of fabric and thread left on the mat. My recommendation is to use the regular one and use tape for the edges if needed. Thanks so much for watching!!
I have to cut a Celtic shamrock for 4 corners. Will this be distorted due to the cutting or removal from the mat? thank you for showing how to cut fabric - you saved me hours and lots of fabric not to mention frustration!!!
Another trick to save your mat from getting fuzzy is to use a piece of removable vinyl on your mat upside down so your fabric sticks to the backside of the vinyl, and the front is stuck to the mat.

Are you using a special matt? I have a silhouette cameo 4. I have regular matt for vinyl and an extra sticky that I haven’t used yet. Recommendation?

THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!
You’re welcome!! Thanks for watching!!
Thank you I was also struggling with the use of the second carriage.

If you are cutting on a bias or are worried about distortion, I would suggest ironing a thin layer of fusible web or interfacing to the back first.
Super helpful Video! Do you think it will be able to cut intricate designs on fabrics like Vinyl, PVC and PU leather?
Yes, it will definitely cut all of that and more! You’ll just need the rotary blade because it makes a deeper cut than the regular one.
Another trick to save your mat from getting fuzzy is to use a piece of removable vinyl on your mat upside down so your fabric sticks to the backside of the vinyl, and the front is stuck to the mat.
Great tip! Thanks for sharing!
Your title should specify that your instructions are for the Silhouette Cameo FOUR
Thank you for the suggestion and thanks for watching!!
