- In Episode 1619, Sean Woodley is joined by Richard Stayman (Locked On NBA Big Board) to chat about the state of the 2024 NBA Draft class, the Toronto Raptors' muddled pick situation and some potential players who could be snug fits in Toronto with the Indiana Pacers pick and/or the Detroit Pistons pick at the top of the second round. Spurs fan here, I come in peace! I honestly think it would be best for y’all to have it convey. Next years class is stacked!! Even if next years pick is 10-14, you will get the same quality player as 1-8 this year plus the contract would be cheaper!
Raps will somehow get the first overall pick because it’s a weak draft lol

Raptors if they don't get Sar should draft Edey and trade Portal. Edey can block Wemby inside and is unstoppable inside and is great on free-throw line. It also frees up salary space so they can get a good backup point guard
Spurs fan here. Not gonna I'm definitely hoping that pick doesn't convey this year. Didn't realize the raptors had the option to convey it regardless. I can't imagine the spurs would want that. This seems like the type of draft where GMs get fired. It would suck to make two picks in the top 10 and neither pan out.
Had to post cliche, but this is a Presti draft who can bundle one or two others to move up a couple if he feels strongly about a kid. But OKC has a 20 year-old, Dieng, would would likely go top 5. Pretty amazing. In Sam….
Draft Knecht - can come in and play right away. We won’t draft a project, a wait and see type of player. Need a sharpshooter. Fits the timeline with bbq.
The defense is a realllll problem there
@@LockedOnRaptors that’s because IQ is too small. He should be in the 6th man position. Be instant offense off the bench.
@@LockedOnRaptors i wouldnt look at the top picks for raptors, they best shot at a good wing with most upside is ron holland, then buzelis. they have more upside than alex sarr. collier likely wont be there at 17, i think he is slated in the 13 range. i think they can get ryan dunn at 31. he is a project but picks in that range are suppose to be a project. chomche is a possibility as well.
you never know with teams also, hawks dont own there pick in 2025 so there is no incentive to tank. they may trade one of their picks for gary trent jr sign and trade or bruce brown for deandre hunter. possibly even a jakob poeltl for clint capella with one of their picks in 2024.
you also have the possibility for a team like okc wanting a player at 6, maybe clingan and they trade raptors their 12 pick this year and a 2025 pick for the raptors 6th pick.
@@LockedOnRaptors you could see masai even trade the 17 and 31st pick to get to 12 and take collier. only players i see worth taking in this draft is holland, buzelis, castle and collier as they have the most upside. holland has all nba possibilties, buzelis all star potential. collier potential is also high.
i dont think raptors should take an undersized guard as we have seen the issues of undersized guards as they cant score at the rim and callapse the defence in the nba ala fred and dennis, so they just plug the paint and dare them to shoot.
@@LockedOnRaptors i think stayman also muddled up what he meant to say. if the top 8 picks are in reality 6-8 picks later in the 2025 draft, then you are not getting the true value of paying those top 8 picks first round pick money as they get paid alot more. naturally players taken 8 and further are gonna be more of a project and not world beaters their first year, so its likely the value of the 8-22 picks is on par with the mid round picks in a strong draft. so picking a player in the top 6 probably isnt worth the money you have to pay them. if raptors get the 4-6 pick, it may be worth it to trade the pick for 2 picks in the 10-14 range or for a pick in the 10-15 range in 2024 and a 2025 pick.
Doesnt matter how weak this draft is. Look at our bench. Anyone they pick is likely going to help and be an upgradde

I know he is not a great shooter but he is long, quick and young.
How weak is it? Dick would go top 3 in this draft
dick would likely got 5-6 in this draft. 6th pick in 2024 is like 12th pick in 2025 or 2023. even look at the 2023 draft, outside of wemby, none of those picks really popping out as stars their first year. even scoot henderson looking like a bust.
