Nice. That was fun.
Players want to win. Players don't tank. Orgs tank by limiting what talent plays.
100%
I need to know what Dallas knows that I don't.
Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy it’s Monday
Sean, you have Katie as your guest. Let her basketball feelings shine through buddy. We already know your feelings😊
Congratulations Sean. And in less important stuff, I agree with you. All I want to see from the Raptors this season is some growth and clarity on some of the players. I'd rather be establishing a good culture and good habits than going full tank mode.
🎉congrats🎉
Congratulations Sean, that kids gonna have an awesome dad!
Congratulations on your fantastic news! Love your shows. I’m a regular listener. I also would love to see Wiggins here!
Thanks so much!!!
@@LockedOnRaptors before you start talking wiggins. go look at raptors cap table lol. if they take back zero money for brown, boucher and davion mitchell, and pay the new rookies, and give jakob poeltl his 14-16 million raise, and with scottie barnes 29 million raise, the raptors are around 2-4 million under the 1st apron in 2026 if the luxury tax goes up 10 million, putting the 1st apron at 188 million. that means wiggins would likely put them into 2nd apron. and rogers wont pay luxury tax unless raptors have been to conference finals at least.
I see Mitchell as a core piece going forward and would like to see IQ moved
Not happening
@@Htiy they gonna have to move someone in 2026 if they pay jakob poeltl his 14-16 million raise, after paying new rookies and with scottie barnes 29 million dollar raise. they will be 2-4 million under the 1st apron at 188 million if the luxury tax goes up 10 million. and that is only if they take zero money back for brown, boucher and davion mitchell. they wont be able to give RJ a max contract he is likely to ask for in early extension in summer of 2026. rogers wont pay luxury tax unless they have been to conference finals at least.
Congratulations on the father news Sean! I've been a fan watching almost every episode for 4 years now. So happy for you! ❤
thank you!
@@LockedOnRaptors raptors are not making play in. they would have lost the games they won without boucher and brown points. so after they traded, their bench will be pure trash.
The recent games show that players do not tank.
Es is so cool
really makes me feel less cool and I'm not cool
BI makes no sense for the Raps
Trade for zion, his contract is worth it
Bi averages 35 pts a game against this so called Scottie and your entire raptor team for 5 years straight. And hes 27 years old not 28 years old so stop the cap.
Why did You lisren for half an hour just to hate😂
the good thing is you don't seem mad at all
Bank lol
Dick’s defence does not warrant him starting
It's good that he starts and provides spacing, for our drive heavy starters. That being said, he seemed to play much better when he had a higher ussage.
The best defensive point guard should always start
At this point, I'd be surprised if we could trade Bruce. If he's happy here and keeps playing well, I'm not sure I see the point, unless the offer is good. Don't just dump him.
If they lose 60 games, there would be so many changes made, the season would almost be pointless. and it would mean that basically every call on young players would have missed, at which point, it doesn't matter who you draft.
Barnzilla🦖🦖🦖
22-60 hopefully
Lengendary opening
28:38 - getting rookie'd by the refs, and it's his 3rd game in 3 days. 32:09 - i think it's more of a mental and willingness test Darko's doing, No real hiding on defense.
We have 7 games left to the trade deadline, Ball out, try to win them all, maybe we win 5 of those. We trade off the vets, and let the young guys take over. We'll have about 7 tough games, and then it gets easier. We make the play-in/offs, and go from there. This can help raise the confidence level of everyone. For anyone saying thinking this would be like 2022/23, it's completely different, because we're playing Darko-ball, not selfish-ball The 2016/17 Miami Heat started 11-30, and finished 41-41. That could be us. Forget the tank
this whole comment is blasphemy
The last trade which includes Patrick Williams. It works decent for all but the Bulls team. Yes, they get off of PWill's conctract (for Nurk), but if Patrick's contract is considered bad, Taking in Beal's contract is far worse. The Bulls would have to be severely compensated in draft picks to drink that down. All three of Sun's diluted pick is probably not enough, one of the other teams MIA / TOR has to chip in with picks.
If Heat don't trade Butler he's going to opt in next year and play badly cos he's that petty.
one of the funniest possible outcomes here!
As a Cavs fan, Im going to chime in. Why would Toronto want Beal and his contract (thats if he waived his no trade clauee)? You guys want to get stuck paying a mid player 50+ million a year for the next 3 year who can veto any trade? Why?
they don't! which we covered at length in the show!
@LockedOnRaptors I figured that. No one in the League wants Beal or his contract. It's sort of like the Levine situation in Chicago. Ok player, horrible contract.
Lavine's a little different cause he makes less money and is actually playing very well, but yeah, big ass long deals are tough in this climate
Now I'm really curious as to whether Beal goes anywhere. It must be great having that control in the NBA.
beal is GOD ..
Kleen runs a good ship 🫡
We like him!
I see Beal sitting at home and laughing at all this trade talk because they can't force him to move. They benched him, so that's less work for him + if they miss the playoffs, that's an early vacation in Phoenix😂
vacation does rock
I don’t think you know new very well…
35:59 - that is nuts.
Hopium lives.
my tanking addiction is making it hard to appreciate these wins
You didn't mention that KO is leading the NBA in 3 point shooting percentage.
Hey
Siakam was one of the best Raptors stories ever, taking back Brown has been one of the worst moves in recent memory. Nwora and Lewis are gone. So we got Ja'Kobe and a 2026 late 1st round pick for Spicy P. Yikes. Hoping for some smaller and smarter moves in the next couple of weeks.
P. Siakam was traded for 3 Firsts and Bruce Brown - J. Nwora and K. Lewis === Masai has never done a rebuild so thats something to consider. immediately traded the worst of the 3 picks (#29 2024 I. Collier) to Utah for Kelly O and Ochai and then drafted Ja'Kobe with the Indy (19th) pick still have Bruce Brown and the 2026 Indy Pick (Top 4 protected)
@@palidanek74 yah I guess my point is that it wasn't the best return, basically three bench guys and a yet to be determined draft pick (likely 2026 #20 at best) for a #2 scoring option. I like Agbaji and KO, that was a decent trade.
Yes please to D. Holmes (assuming he passes a recovery assessment). Plus Saric and Cancer makes the $$$ work. I'd rather not get stuck with Zeke.
Remember when this dude talked so much trash on the Pistons before the season began Jajajaja
actually the sac trade was only possible from the trade exception of 20 mil we got in the siakam trade. 15 mil of it was used in the sac trade, netting us more... people dont see the forest when they are to close to the trees... masai spread the risk over a bunch of different assets.... upgraded the 29th pick into ochai (lottery pick in 2022 and an asset in the donavon mitchell trade) and kelly which is another expiring next year to get assets this year or next year... there are so many moving pieces to the pascal trade and the trades after casuals dont care about the value logic, but its very connected
Both Boucher and Mitchell’s value is as a 10-12 bench player who comes in very few games or brings energy when the team is a little sluggish.
And no I don't think.Chris will get his current salary from any team in the NBA including Raptors. He is worth 3/ 10-12M in this new CBA.
Why do you want @Raptors to take on 3 contracts, 2 players that you alluded to that are unplayable & 1 who is out due to a major injury? Do you want Masai to get fired? I hear from some Raps media that this is an expensive roster for a rebuild. Just doesn't make sense. I repeat you need young prospect & vets on decent contracts who can help impact wins.
In order to get really good assets like 1st round picks or even multiple 2nds you need to take back something that’s not so great….. that’s why. Every team wants young talent and reasonable vets in good contracts…. Not many of them are out there since the new apron restrictions.
@@mtavares15 You don't take back contracts like those that can impact your flexibility in the next couple yrs , become a hit to your books & not help your young players. We saw it this yr with KO. He should at least giving this team a better offensive punch to make up for his liability on D & he is not. He turns the ball over & is afraid to shoot the 3 even though he has been touted as a spacing big.
@@mollyweir9350yes you can but it depends on the size of the contract and how much room you have to absorb them…. Obviously you don’t take back a contract that is $25m+ over the next 4 years…. But $25 at 1 or 2…. Maybe but you better be getting back some 1sts….especially when you are under the tax by a decent margin. PHO is completely different….. they have 3 players making $50m+ a year. Raptors are no where near that.
Sucks to tank, but we dont got any other choice until after this year’s draft. Hopefully this moves us forward 🙌 Flagg or Bailey lets gooooo
Hi
Putting Scottie and IQ in the same sentence is wiiild
I really think everybody still sleeping on Barnes…. Barnes has improved in different areas every year…. And next year when the Raptors start putting in real plays and consistent line ups… Barnes is going to make people eat their words. If Raps get either the 1st or 2nd pick… definitely Flagg and Harper… at 3 probably Bailey (depending on how he finishes the college season) Beyond that… it wouldn’t surprise me if they trade #4 and move back a couple of spots and get another pick and select players like Newell and Rasheer Fleming and hoping for someone like Carter Bryant (if he declares).
"Of it all" lol. Fan of thinking basketball?
