It's finally here. After over 25 years of ups and downs, the total number of Pokemon is now in the quadruple digits. As like last gen, I decided to once again record the Gen 9 cries myself, while rerecord some of the other cries I felt weren't good quality.
In case you were wondering, the delay was not only due to IRL stuff getting in the way, but also waiting for National Pokedex numbers to be confirmed. An original draft of the video ordered the Gen 9 mons by index number, and I had to reorder everything due to this!

Considering my siblings and I have known this franchise since it started back in 1998 (in America at least), it's been a long time coming to see nearly a 1,000 pokemon does exist compared to 800 or less in the previous generations. To be honest, I can't wait to see what pokemon would take the number 2000 spot (considering 2000 is the same title in America as Pokemon: The Movie 2000 featuring Lugia and such. So if we ever get another Lugia type Pokemon, it would be awesome to see what will take that spot in the 2040s/2050s and such.

One very popular idea before Gholdengo was that Pokemon 1000 would be an official MissigNo, maybe they could make it the 1111th.

But who knows what kind of Pokemon would that be in the future. As for the 1,111th, they could make a glitched pokemon, although I'm pretty sure it won't look like artifacts or an 8-bit pokemon.....They could, but I'm not sure Game Freak/The Pokemon Company ever wants to make that.

The cries definitely got better as time went on. Now each Pokemon sounds like it has a unique identity in its cry, whereas earlier they almost sounded the same, all sounding like some sort of computer sounds.
They did reuse and remix cries, especially in the earlier generations. That's why Charizard's cry was changed. It sounded exactly like Rhyhorn. 😂

Some fun facts Part 3
Floette does indeed have a completely separate cry for it's different form, Eternal Flower Form. While this is in fact the same Floette AZ has in X and Y it was never Released despite being present in all Gen 6 games with it's own unique and higher stats and signature Base 100 power 100% Accurate Special Fairy Type Move called Light of Ruin. And in Gen 7 it has it's own unique Pokédex entries added as well. And it's data was also later on added to Pokémon Home. Meaning that Gamefreak and Pokémon have clearly not forgotten it and still have plans for it in the future. Probably in a Legends Arceus Styled game in Kalos directly after the infamous Great War from 3,000 years ago.
The Ultra Beasts, the Solgaleo and Lunala line, and Necrozma in all of it's forms all share the same sound extension at the end of their cries with an alien sounding distant echo. It noticably sounds like the sound effect of the echo or opening if an Ultra Wormhole. This somewhat implies that this is only what they sound like to us once they enter our world because their voice and projection of their sound is different on our planet compared to their own home worlds. Although the fact that they retain this cry in their Ultra Wormhole Homeworld locations may better imply that it is simply a limit of our hearing and perception to our human ears. This would be similar to someone with a Foreign Accent which is unusual to us but normal to them. This further drives home the theme of family and invasive species that's present in the Alola games.
You could show me the cry of any alolan Pokémon and I could guess it perfectly with my eyes closed.

Lumeion’s cry is so underrated
I looked at the most replayed spot to see what cries are the most popular. I thought it was Gen 5 legendaries but saw that it is actually the Pokestar Studio cries. I though PLA was the first game to add human sound effects but some of these cries have human laughter and screams in them.

Slowpoke is the only Pokémon to have a different cry in their regional variant.
Haunter is one of the Pokémon who's cry has gone through the most changes ever since it's origin game. Having a different cry in every game for the first 6 generations and one more if you count the Alpha Pokémon in Legends Arceus. Making for a total of 7.
Jinx to this day still has the longest Cry of any Pokémon.
Jinx also has had an unused Cry for a Mega Evolution with the Mega Evolution signature Reverb extension at the end. It has been in the Files of Let's Go Pikachu, Let's Go Eevee, and most recent Scarlet and Violet but completely unused. Notably Jinx is unavailable and not included in Scarlet and Violet. This seemingly implies that Gamefreak and Pokémon have had thoughts and plans for bringing back Mega Evolution as a Battle Mechanic for at least every game since the Nintendo Switch's release with expanding the roster and further exploring it's surrounding lore.
