They are worth every penny. They are made of all leather top to bottom. Once the are broken in. Thier is nothing healthier for your feet. Any store bought shoe. Is made of synthetics. with a pressed on rubber sole that will start to come off maybe in a few weeks in not months. Canvas, rubber and cardboard are not suitable for footwear. Leather stretches and conforms with wear. Canvas and synthetic materials don't and tear in no time at all. I would say you got a sturdy shoe.

They come in different shapes and sizes
But the short boots and some tall boots were pretty common
Tall boots nowadays are only worn in Europe, Asia, motorcycle police and some state police in the U.S. I think the Texas cadets also wore tall boots.
your suppose to order them a half size to big remember they wore woold socks and those socks are thick
