I just found your channel within the last two weeks. I grabbed African leather today online. Blind buy. Came here to get your review because you hold no punches and I like your style 👊🏽👊🏽. Sounds like I’m safe, but I’m definitely grabbing the one you compare it too.
Found this b/c I’m sampling Iberian Leather at the moment and I’m finding it so compelling. It took about an hour, hour and half to bloom but once it did I was transported to an outdoor spice market in the dry air with incense floating around the edges. Incredibly dry and spicy, I can’t imagine where I would wear this but I want it none the less. Didn’t care for the opening or mid, but once it blooms 😍
Now I know I NEED Iberian leather, love the bottle! African is one of the best fragrances I've smelled, maybe it's not the most original but I love it on my skin. Great review! Thank you Sam!!!

Memo Paris is my favourite house. I try and match equivalents from PdM and for me,
Memo is more unique and distinct, longer lasting and here in Australia, I can get it cheaper (overall).

Hi! I’ve not sampled any of these scents, so thank you for the excellent rundown! ❤️ A favorite leather fragrance of mine is Bvlgari Black. The petrol note is a favorite of mine, too (so I think I’d reach for the Italian Leather; again, so great to know & thank you!). 😀

Lovely look at these leathers Sam😊. The ones I've tried have been very appealing actually, and I do enjoy their presentation too. From the Memo range my favourite was a non-leather, Winter Palace, a very nice tea-centric fragrance, worth checking out 👌🏻.

Took a while, but Russian Leather eventually overtook African Leather as my fav of the line. Currently working on the Irish variety. 🍀 Appreciate that take on the new release!

I've been interested in Iberian Leather. The brand is pretty interested. I have the memo paris Marfa and LOOOVE it. This one I acquired samples of it before purchasing. Thank you for the video on this house.

Nice to hear these really straightforward, no nonsense thoughts on the Memo leather line 👏🏼 I would disagree that LDDM is superior to African Leather. AL is very close in profile to LDDM but much more refined, polished, slightly sweeter making it more mass pleasing and way more projecting. I get a lot of “you smell lovely” compliments for AL.. that I never ever got with LDDM.
Irish Leather is super interesting. The dry down is sublime. Super clean leather. Fast becoming one of my favourite leathers and favourite signature scents. To me, it’s a straight down the middle split of Green Irish Tweed and Tuscan Leather with a little dab of L’Humaniste dancing around in the background. That’s literally what I get from it. There really is nothing quite like it. It’s lovely. I need to get my nose on Russian leather.

I went out straight to buy iberian leather after watching this video, and im not disappointed at all...
I adore L'air du Desert Marocain but on my husband!! It makes him smell like a spice raider. I'm not one to shy away from masculine scents, but LDDM is too dry for me! That being said, I'm on an obsessive quest for a the perfect summer fougere, and it's all your spellcasting that's done this, so thank you~

My favorite is Iberian leather. It smells like a BOSS. Best fragrance from the house, worth evry penny.

Love Memo. I only own Marfa but have enjoyed wearing Irish Leather and Moroccan Leather (to me these similar at the top though ML gets soapier and more floral). I would like both. I prefer French Leather to African Leather - lively suede like finish even though rose is not a favourite note. AL reminds me a lot of CK Obsession in my skin for most of its life. I’m curious to smell more. Would enjoy hearing more on this line though tbh their longevity isn’t the greatest as their fragrances are wonderful.

i don't 'get into' leathers, but as there is some crossover with leather and oud, i do enjoy that. as i've said before (i think - i hope): there are only a few perfume commentators whose material i'll watch whether it's regarding a perfume that interests me or not. you are on that very short list. many, many thanks.

Great overall review! Appreciate the general description of each fragrance without getting too in-depth. Sometimes you can feel like you are getting lost in the technical aspects vs. just wanting to know: 1) Is it good, and 2) Could I pull it off.

I really love the opening of a lot of Memo perfumes but they all get so sweet in the dry down. i feel like it's almost all full of ambermax/ambroxan and it cheapens them
This was good, Sam. Thanks for sharing! It’s cool you’re such a fan of LDDM… one of my favorites. I love dry spicy woods and incense so naturally, I love LDDM. I’m really intrigued by this line, they all sound nice. Perhaps I’ll hunt down a discovery set.
Some of my favorites lately (even though it’s summer) have been Gucci Guilty Absolute, JV Dark Rebel and Platinum (I find it similar to LDDM, just lighter), Bohemian Lime, Guerlain Vetiver, No Limits and Prada Amber Pour Homme Intense.

Italian Leather! Top note is Marinara Sauce transitioning into pungent smell of pizza and garlic bread. What can be more Italian than that? Not a hint of anything else not to mention a leather accord. Don Corleone approves!
I don’t think I’ve ever tried Memo! Any Russian imagery piques my interest even though I’ve never been there.
Nice video but I disagree with you saying African leather is too synthetic . Marfa is very nice and unique , Irish leather the best but African leather is number 1

I'm a woman, and love African Leather, and it doesn't smell synthetic to me at all. I have Marfa and plan to purchase Sintra. Tom Ford has started to let me down.His prices are over priced and getting more watered down compared to before the 2010's.

I could have 2 bottles and still be a fraghead. It's not about how much money you have, but about the passion. I think I'm ok with my 300+ perfumes anyway. I won't buy something just to review it. 🌹Xo Sam
