I worked at an assisted living and nursing home facilities in the US as a nurse and knew that each elderly here spends 4k to 10k a month for their accommodation, food and medical care. When you spend that 4K in the Philippines for an elderly that could be a king or queen living there cuz you can hire an all around caregiver there for $200 to $300, a nice condominium for $500 a month, a personal driver for $300/ month, and the rest is for food and medications.

I live here around Los Angeles in a shady neighborhood and my one bedroom apartment cost $1,500 a month. Place have no amenities at all. I just bought a condo unit in the Philippines because I'm moving back there next year. My monthly would only cost me $375 and it's on a high-rise building in a great commercial district area with malls and restaurants. My building have a basketball court, resort like swimming pools, a huge gum a saina, a walking garden. It' just make sense for me to move back. Everything is cheaper and at the same time a better standard of living at least for my case

My husband and I are Filipino-American and the dream has always been to retire in the Philippines. We don’t stress about retirement like Americans do, because we know that money goes a long way back home. The quality of the food, healthcare, service industries and sincere human interactions are unparalleled. We work federally so the goal is to retire at 59.5, then file social security at 62.

If you go to Manila go to BGC. Its pretty much America with little to no crime. There are so many American brands and restaurants there. There is security everywhere not because of the crime its more to employ the citizens. Thats the one thing that the Philippines lacks, upward mobility. But if you can generate $3-4k/month you can live an upper middle class lifestyle. Also if you want to grab Japanese Korean or Thai food its a 4hr flight away 😊. I plan to make Manila my home base then travel to any Asian country I want whenever I want

    • @BennLuvsYou24

It's not strange at all. Most people who go abroad usually do it for the sakes of their love ones and for hopes that their kids could experience a better life, perhaps materially, than they've had it. It's a sacrifice. Careers are also motivators for going abroad. In the Philippines, not many people think of career even though a lot of us have college degrees. The government can't sustain the population with enough jobs so degrees end up becoming useless and some inevitably seek out opportunities overseas, a lot of us end up just letting go of what could have been a career. Most stay and somehow eke out a living, some rely on their relatives who work abroad. The divide between the haves and have nots very apparent... Tough but it is home. On the other hand, the American Dream is actually a building called a retirement home because everyone is just out for themselves and so the end is also very lonesome. The West is starting to burn to the ground, the UK too because of ideology. Freedom and liberty are great but it should be tempered with law and order and, among other things, modesty. More people are finding safe havens in places where there is still some semblance of order and chill. Although Philippines isn't exactly a place with great governance, the police and peace and order are maintained because law enforcement is respected by its citizenry and we're mostly apolitical, very much unlike in the western places I mentioned plus the place is beautiful and our people there are very fun loving, so...

We do a live stream with everyone for 6hrs. Then we take the 30videos we reacted to and post them so that the people that didn’t see the live stream have a chance to watch as well.
