- Fan-made Mafia III Alternate Ending where Joe Barbaro talks to Vito Scaletta and confesses he is Lincoln Clay's father. After the ending cutscene of Mafia 3 Joe Barbaro drives Leo Galante back to Empire Bay in his Lassiter Sterling limousine but they stop to fill up gas before leaving the city. Joe uses this opportunity to quickly call Vito via a nearby telephone after seeing a flyer advertisement for Vito's Restaurant earlier. In the ending of Mafia 2 Joe wasn't part of the deal so Leo gave him two options, either get wacked on the spot or Joe has to be Leo's personal bodyguard/chauffeur for life and can no longer communicate with Vito because of all the trouble they caused in Empire Bay. In this Mafia 3 alternate ending Joe breaks the rules by making a quick 30 second phone call to Vito to let him know he's alive. Vito understanding the gravity of the situation can't say anything for the safety of himself and Joe's. its not possible that Lincoln is Joe's son, first of all Joe is itallian white man, and Lincoln is African American..... Unless Lincoln is adopted or if Joe had a relationship with a black woman, but even though if he's Joe's son, he would be half white half black which he clearly isnt

Exactly, in this video Joe doesn't have much time to talk to Vito since Leo is in the car waiting for the limo to refuel. The reason Joe makes the quick call to Vito is to tell him that he is indeed alive after 17 years and that the Omerta forbid him from contacting him after all these years. Lastly Joe wanted to thank Vito for everything they have been through. This wall all said in less than 35 seconds by Joe. I felt like Martin Scorsese when planning and executing this video (trying to tell a cinematic story). Fun fact ALL Joe dialogue in this video is by Joe's original voice actor Robert Costanzo.

But that is so dumb. They made all these promises about Joe and none were kept. They removed the vito DLC and so on.
Yeah they couldn’t add in unfortunately which sucks I Personally loved the ending we got for mafia 3 with that being joe towards the end.
Yeah the Official Mafia twitter made it seem Joe would have a longer appearance/cameo in the game but he only appeared briefly and in the shadows with nothing to say. I can see why many people (to this day) missed or didn't even realize Joe Barbaro was in Mafia 3.

I liked Lincoln's story, and his rapport with Donovan was always fun and engaging...but you'll never have a pair of friends like Joe and Vito. Their relationship is truly special, and I wish it'd been either entirely ignored or more fully addressed in Mafia III, rather than how they really kinda half-assed it. That being said, this scene is lovely- the city looks beautiful, and it's just a nice, quiet reflective moment for Vito. Wish he could've had a more prominent role in the story. Imagine if Mafia III's story had been more linear, and Vito worked more closely with Lincoln to take over each district. Burke and Cassandra were cool, but they weren't on the same level as Vito- and I'm not just saying that as someone who played Mafia II. Vito always had mutual respect for Lincoln, and vice versa. They'd both been royally betrayed by Marcano and deserved to get payback their own special way.
Would've been awesome to see Vito and Donovan interact as well, I can imagine Vito just calling him 'fed' the whole time, even after they got along and became friends. Maybe that could've even been how Vito found out Joe was still alive, through Donovan's gathering intel on various gangsters.
And what about Tommy and Paulie?
A more linear story would have worked well. I played the game as if it were linear because the openworld was bland as hell.

The music playing during the scene where joe calls vito is so beautiful and sad at the same time. Almost like a ballad of losing someone you care about after realizing all those years they were actually alive, all because of a code that cant be broken unless you are willing to face likely death.
I didn't like it when they gave the option to kill Vito. This reunion should have been canon instead. Thanks, MG. 🙂

Would he be a teenager in the 30s? Maybe mid 20s at the least. Guess it really depends on how old he was by the point Vito met him in prison. But i assumed he was in his 60s at that point. And yeah i was assuming Sal Marcano is gonna appear in it since the dudes in the bootleg deal had New Orelans accents. Almost thought the dude talking was Sal but I remembered that dude gets shot in the original version. Maybe they worked for or with Sal though

To the naysayers: the driver and Joe literally have the same facial features and chin scar. This isn't some far fetched theory like Joe being Lincolns dad, they literally put a cheeky pause and face reveal on the driver for Christ's sake. Mafia left it a little ambiguous assuming their fan base had more than two brain cells so it would be an "ah I see what you did there" rather than spoonfeeding the information like we are two year old fuckwits. Plus, Mafia 3 players that are completely new to the franchise didn't need that much information crammed down their throats.

I like that those cutscene motions are looking pretty enough natural when used by another character, not getting heavily messed up, and most probably they're not even supposed to be used that way.
Only people who played all of mafia 2 understand the pain of vito only now knowing joes alive ( mafia 2 ended with Vito and joe riding off in the backs of separate cars, Vito’s leading to success and joe’s… presumingly leading to being executed )
I'm not gonna lie I did cry a little with the music and the talk man we could've had something beautiful with a real Vito and Joe reunion but this will have to suffice

There really should have been some kind of extra quest after you help Vito with his favors at the end of Mafia 3 when you saw Joe. there should have been a quest and you go to Vito and tell him that Joe is still alive. Vito deserves to know

They should do DLC called Seeking the truth. Vito gets call from unknown person that tells him he knows him very well and he knows what really happenned to Joe and that he is alive. Vito without thinking Long enough says he will kill every single guy that tries to stop him while looking for clues about Joe.
I kinda wish for the “leave everything behind” ending in Mafia 3 that Hangar 13 would’ve showed Lincoln in another city like Los Angelas and have and actual alternate ending, but have a cutscene of Lincoln getting off a train while he’s telling a story about his views and past and what not but basically the same start as Mafia 3 starting from nothing but leaving it there as a cliffhanger for the next game involving Lincoln

Leo Galante is the only character from the 2nd game that looks and sounds like he hasn't changed or aged. Also if joe really is alive and working for Leo, I feel so terribly bad for vito. I know it's just a damn video game trilogy but vito gave up everything for the life and wouldnt be able to understand why his friend was torn away from him, knowing he was still alive

This would’ve been dope if the game added this style of ending in mafia 3 where joe calls up and Vito to let him know he’s all right and they have conversation personally I wouldn’t make the whole Lincoln and joe theory true because I don’t see it being possible but mafia games already confirmed that was joe at the end of mafia 3 opening Leo’s car I like the ending they gave us personally people think half assed it but it’s more realistic if you think about it.

I really wish mafia have an epilogue where vito is still not satisfied about the mystery of joe barbaro. So we play as vito once again and do some missions to make sure 100% if joe already dead or not. You know, they can still make vito couldn't find joe, but i really wish he knew that joe was alive. That would make a great plot to the next game if vito or joe still alive. Or a simple meeting between joe and vito is good enough for me. Cmon vito's story is the only reason why i follow up mafia 3. And have that mafia 2 song at the epilogue, would make a lot of fucking sense and give us the thrills and some sense of hope

Does anybody knows why the game crashes during the kill cassandra mission, after I kill all guards and put down cassandra, after press X the game crash.
