I first saw these after your review of their creasing irons - I figured I would give those irons a go and love them (so thanks for that). I decided to pick up a skiver blade, beveler blade, and handle from their interchangable set and liked them well enough to get full sets of both. These are fantastic. I have nerve damage in my hand so, sometimes, i have issues with traditionally shaped tools - these have been excellent to use (for me anyway). I am interested in seeing how the students like them and your final review.
Just bought the C/Hides Arc skiver with the 8 & 12mm blades for bridle leather. Same shape handle as the Arc Beveller and SHARP out of the box also. And you are spot on Nigel, the handle shape just fits so nice. I am not sure whether to buy the bevellers as I bought the Horseshoe Brand economy bevellers after your review and they are VG ! After watching your reviews Nigel, I also bought the C/Hide French & Japanese pricking irons in 5 & 3.85mm and golly are they good ! Thanks for all your reviews mate !
Always love your videos, and I would like to see a full review. These look very well suited for strap goods, but I would like to see how they perform on an inside curve.
Why is that insane? firstly, it's $500 Singapore Dollars for the set. You do not have to buy the full set. This equates to £58 each, that's cheaper than most! I review all the tools folks send me, there are plenty of other options to fit your budget, have a look at the beveler review playlist: th-cam.com/play/PLu5txPOIXtG3wOyIJFTfiqvDqt8ZU5F7N.html&si=CkyuVm4jbYJiEZr3 here's 18 options more to choose from
I have the Arc beveler but not the version that has the skiver blades etc that interchange by screwing them on. The Arc skiver version is in my shopping cart next. I currently use my 1/2" wood chisel to slice.
Totally unrelated but I was listening to classical music and the opening music to many of your videos on Vimeo I used to watch is the ending of Allemande in French Suites by Bach!
DEFINITELY non traditional, but the wide blade behind the cutting tip may make steering it at the precise angle of bevel with more precision, easier? Waiting for your review with interest, sir! Also details of cost vs. Benefits, all your normal magic, Nigel...

Always want to hear your take on tools and such, Nigel!

$500+ for the entire set. Insanity. I'm all for quality but there's a limit to the love. And the wallet.

Thanks Nigel. These look like a lovely tool.
This is merely an advertising channel.
Love the channel. Watched the awl sharpening video
Thank you again for this service, Sir. I would appreciate a review for sure. Thank you in advance 👏👏👋
Very interesting I’m curious how they would do on corners not just straight lines?
I'll be interested to see how it handles rounded edges.
Just curious why you would use these on rounded edges? New to the craft so just asking.
Thanks for the great tool review. This is really valuable information.
