Up here in Canada, especially, it's beyond a dream, but this is what the future of airsoft should look like.
+Michael Muise No it's really not. You don't want to mix airsoft guns and UTM firearms. UTM's are loud enough that you need hearing protection, so using it in any airsoft game that doesn't require mandatory ear protection would be extremely unsafe. Not to mention that a UTM BB is going to hurt a hell of a lot more than your average airsoft BB. Essentially, UTM would require a whole new standard of safety equipment to be implemented, adding even more cost than just the gun.
UTM is also so costly (about $0.60) per round that I highly doubt many airsofters or even real-steel shooters would actually pay the premium required to use it. Let's face it, most airsofters and real steel shooters are cheap-asses who buy the cheapest shit they deem will "work" for them.
Airsoft is airsoft. Professional training solutions like UTM, simunitions, blank firing, and laser systems are designed for entirely different purposes. GMR aren't using UTM for airsoft, they're using it for training. Just like they were using real steel firearms for training.

As for the price, yeah you're totally right, which brings me back to its not for everyone.

Michael Muise So you don't really mean airsoft at all, you just want to get into UTM training with some friends for legit force on force training. That would be neat, but I'd personally rather stick with airsoft for cost and wider range of safe tactics. Just get some Systema's and you're good.

+dwee44 They are incredible. Exact cycle speed, feel and super tight grouping at 35 meters. The energy is around 3.3 joules, so it is significant. Hurts the way it should to teach you the correct lesson. This is the future.

+dwee44 You just need to replace the bolt carrier with the UTM Bolt, it converts it from a centerfire to a rimfire to utilize the MMR (Man Marker Round) seen in this video.

How'd you mount the 203 and the suppressor? the locking mechanism on the 203 seemed to be sitting right on the muzzle preventing you from mounting the suppressor

Since GMR is a very milsim airsoft team it would make sense for them to go to the events hosted by Milsim West, they are extremely long, realistic, and overall have a lot of similarities with your team
They've said multiple times they're not a Milsim team by definition, they don't care about realism stuff like that, they're just there to play, have fun, and get better as a team.

So would the simulation rounds penetrate a standard safety mesh mask? I foresee some dangers if this is integrated into Milsim events or something. So does GMR do more than airsoft?
+BlueSeal8 UTM is intended to be used with their approved PPE. There is danger in everything, this isn't stuff to be integrated into "milsim". This is something new that participants would have to throw away their old insecurities and false sense of safety to participate in. GMR has always been more then airsoft, especially the airsoft on now. I don't know what we are yet, but I won't stop going down the rabbit hole until I find out that riddle.
Just had a question, do you guys or have you guys ever ran DMR's? Do you see any benefit to running a DMR or anything similar?

+Justin Spencer "dumbed" down? That isn't correct at all. UTM is more accurate, reliable and realistic. Shot and been shot by both, UTM is new standard.
UTM's are no joke!! We just switched out all of our Glocks from FX to UTM, so much more accurate, reliable, and better feeling cycling.

+Noah Masse Taginn Shells, mostly impact detonation or 3 second delay frags. Total game changing equipment. Can shoot the 203 shell almost double the range of your rifle in woodland and in CQB its an invaluable asset to indirect threats concealed in rooms.

How come at like 3:30 you discharged your chambered round then loaded the mag and chambered a new one? Couldn't you have just slammed the mag back in since you still had a round chambered?
I had encountered two failure to fires in a row and wanted to start fresh before I broke cover to move toward the building. I just wanted to clear out any issues that could have been associated with the UTM training mag that I found had issues feeding. I could have just inserted a new mag but the round chambered could have been damaged and I didn't want to take any chances. And some early schools I went to had taught that after 2 malfunctions on one mag its best to just clear out everything and start from clean condition.

Common thing Airsofters always do to look tacticool -_- One of my largest gripes that I also b*tch about... But no.. It's a fashion show... HOWEVER GMR are the only people I trust that look "tacticool" but at least can kick ass (Despite allegations). A majority of Airsofters now spend THOUSANDS on their gear but they have a terrible skillset.. Imagine this: Airsofters are like the Infantry and GMR are like the SF guys either taking charge or leading the assault.
Mythic you understand that at most Ops the large buildings are un-lit, and that NoDs work in dark rooms in the daytime the same as night right? why expose yourself with visible light when you can just use IR light? I've seen OES destroy before at a daytime OP using Nods, idiots that complain about Nods in the daytime are too stupid to comprehend their applications.
Marksman 5147 well I'd advise against using them during GV because they affect your eyesight when you switch between them. It's easier to just use a flash light during Daytime MOUT. Also it will give you an advantage on anyone you're shooting when you get a light in their face

They're PTW's not AEGs fyi hence the quicker trigger response AEGs just can't achieve.

+thug nificent The UTM footage was from a professional training site that held a CQB FoF Competition where all participants were issued UTM. There was no mixing of airsoft and this much high level technology. But my vision for the future is to have "airsoft" style events with well educated and prepared competitors using the marking round (MMR) UTM. This is what airsoft has always tried to be but could't.
