    Wow your strawberry cobbler cake just sounds so amazing you definitely are on a strawberry cake I must say but I love strawberry so great idea. I love your different additions of lemon zest and cinnamon for inside the cobbler with the strawberries in your light fluffy cobbler crust great idea to serve it hot out of the oven with some ice cream looks amazing

      Hi, Jeff!
      If you like strawberries, then this strawberry cobbler cake is definitely for you. The addition of lemon zest and cinnamon to the fruit filling definitely makes it flavorful. The crust is light and fluffy on the inside yet crispy on the outside, so the combination of textures is great. Although it is great on its own, it is also good with ice cream.
      Thanks for watching, Jeff! 🍓🍓

    1st we have already made this recipe 3 times now & it is OUTSTANDING ! The 1st 2 times were just as shown. The 3rd time we served it with homemade Frozen Greek Vanilla Yogurt from our cows (to be fair it's just Gilding the Lilly as the cobbler is fantastic on its own). It is strawberry season on our farm here in N.E. Ohio & this is such an easy comfort food recipe (that isn't too sweet) that is quick to make. Sorta reminds us of a reverse French Clafoutis (minus the eggs & Chef Parnell adding baking powder to give it some spring) but with batter that has a bit more texture to it. So yah this is a total KEEPER recipe !!!

      Wow, thank you so much for your kind words about my recipe. I am so happy to hear that you have made this three times and loved it!

    Interesting recipe Parnell,
    I've not seen this technique before....
    I was fascinated to see how it came out...
    It looks great, real tasty...
    My mum used to make a different sort of fruit cobbler...
    It was a fruit base with scone topping...
    Just shows, never too old to learn something new....😁👍

    • @ParnellTheChef
      @ParnellTheChef  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, Margaret!
      Yes, this cake style cobbler is definitely different. The hardest part if remembering not to mix haha. It is very interesting how everything separates itself out during the baking process.
      You mom's cobbler sounds good! In the US sometimes you see fruit cobblers with a topping of what we call "biscuits" (something like your scones, I think).
      And yes, learning new things expands your mind, for sure.
      Thanks for watching, Margaret. Sorry for taking so long to get back to you🍓🍓

    I have used this recipe for not only frozen strawberries but frozen blueberries, blackberries, mixed berries, I even used it with a peach pie filling and a lemon pie filling they all came out wonderfully. Caution with the pie filling: do not add sugar with the filling and I reduced the sugar in a crust to 1/3 cup.

    • @ParnellTheChef
      @ParnellTheChef  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, Sharon!
      So glad to hear that you've used this recipe with other types of fruit, too. Wow, I never thought about using lemon pie filling with this type of cobbler--I'll have to give it a try...and I'll have to remember to reduce the sugar in the crust a bit.

    • @ParnellTheChef
      @ParnellTheChef  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, Wendy!
      Yes, you can use cake flour. The crust will be lighter and softer, so if that is what you want, go right ahead. Just make sure that you don't forget to add some baking powder if your cake flour doesn't have any (which I don't think it will).
      Happy Baking!🍓🍓

    How did you thaw your strawberries?

    • @ParnellTheChef
      @ParnellTheChef  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, Breanna!
      I actually thawed mine in the microwave. I emptied the bag into a bowl and then used the defrost setting in increments of 3 minutes for a total of 9 minutes, then I cooked them on high for 1 or 2 minutes. You could also put them in a bowl and thaw them either in the refrigerator over night or on the counter for a few hours.
