Beavers in Hesse - success story or problem animal? | know everything

The beaver is back in Hesse. More than 1000 animals live on Hessian rivers and lakes today. The rodents are masters of hydraulic engineering and create diverse ecosystems with their dams - habitat for birds, insects, reed plants and mammals. However, the resettlement is not without conflict everywhere. Beaver dams in the vicinity of settlements sometimes flood meadows and gardens and annoy the residents.
