This is just awesome. I bought a 2014 last summer and I'm in love with the car. Already planning on having a 17 inch setup for winter with a good offroad tire and 19 R-line wheels on summer. Both perform and looks great 😍
I am impressed, especially when its 4Motion drive system handled the angled logs. There was some wheelspin every meter or so but it kept rolling. I wouldn't mind owning one if I needed a small SUV. Sadly, probably 98% of Tiguans in North America will never see anything more challenging than a pothole.
If you are anywhere near Iowa, having a winter like we are currently having, I guarantee that you will be testing every bit of your awd systems. We all want safe cars that can get us from point a to point b during these difficult winter months, most people do not just buy awd for no reason.
@@BlueF350 I'm north of Seattle. We got hit relatively hard for this area (definitely not the Thanksgiving blizzard of central IL) and my Tiguan with the correct tires made everything easy; more so than FWD with snow chains.

I had a 2011 AWD Tiguan for a few years, but just got a 2013 Subaru Forester. I was extremely confident taking my Tiguan on some rough slopes. Being new to cars, I didn't realize how good it was. I haven't tested my forester on anything, yet.
I own the 2016 and 2020 and in my opinion the 2016 is a tad more capable but then again I'm willing to push the 5 year old car more than the new one...

Hab auch einen 2015 Tiguan Track&style 2.0 TSI DSG 4 Motion. Hab meinem Tiguan ein Offroad Fahrwerk mit 30mm mehr Bodenfreiheit verpasst, im Geläde schlägt er sich echt gut.
Ich bin sehr zufrieden, die Wahrheit ist, dass die Traktion dieses Autos sehr gut ist und mit guten Offroad-Reifen deutlich besser wird. Me alegro mucho, la verdad es que la tracción que tiene este coche esta muy bien, y con unos buenos neumáticos off-road gana mucho.
Tengo un Defender 90 para el trabajo y campo, también un Tiguan para la mujer está muy bien el coche pero no es un todoterreno como el Defender. Este coche está diseñado para el asfalto y si un dia te vas al monte que puedes ir bien sin problemas no le pides mucho más. Este coche que hace esto seguro que está preparado no es de serie. No tiene ejes solo tiene diferenciales con palieres y he roto unos cuantos por culpa de las piedras o pedruscos porque no están protegidos con ejes. La mujer no entiende nada del mundo del 4x4 como mucha gente, pero Si puede ver la diferencia entre un todoterreno con un todocamino, ( Defender con el Tiguan ). Cuando coge el Defender la mujer en el campo tiene otra cara y otra sonrisa. Cada coche está diseñado por lo que es.
Este Tiguan en concreto es el modelo Country, viene con algunas mejoras para offroad como el frontal con ángulo de 28,protector de motor/Carter y un botón que simula un bloqueo de diferencial electrónico. Pero todo sale de origen
@@travelsuis Como he dicho hay algunos modelos preparados y otros no pero el Tiguan de la mujer te seguro que no hace todo esto, en el momento que una rueda no toca el suelo hay se queda. Con un bloque de diferencial tal vez pero el modelo que tengo no lo tiene. Haaa otra cosa el Tiguan tiene algo parecido como un embrague para la tracción detrás, No es el embrague del cambio es otra cosa parecido, de tanto subir por los montes y tracción 4x4 se ha quedado sin tracción detrás.

Así es, este modelo en concreto (Country) lleva un botón Off road,que hace una especie de bloqueo electrónico al 60-40 también tiene control de ascenso y descenso y el frontal con ángulo de 28 grados.
the problem I find it has is ground clearance. it's unstoppable until it ends up belly up in deep sand or mud, then it's just done, needs a snatch out.
Buenas tardes Vitajo, el coche esta estrictamente de serie y es manual. Yo le he usado por pistas y muy contento con el, no es para hacer trialeras, esta claro, pero es un juguete muy divertido.

Lol, it's a gentle drive over some bumpy earth. I guess it is considered extreme for crossovers, but for real 4x4's wouldn't even be worth starting the truck.
oh damn that little Tiguan is better than many other crossovers in the segment.

Me encantaba el Touareg ,estuve apunto de comprar un V6 de 2012 en muy buen estado, pero mi mujer lo veía grande y al final..... Disfrútalo.

Hola, si. Le puse unas llantas de 16" con neumáticos 225/70-16 con Dunlop A/Y y era una pasada, muchísimo más cómodo y se levanta un poco

Volvo uses the same AWD as the Tiguan so performance will be similar.
