I'd like to see a comparison with the Apollo 11, similar prices etc. LFA starting to bring more options to the Apollo 11(ported barrels, slide stops etc.), and XP with the Glock mags and future accessory potential as well. I'm debating on which to eventually buy, though XP got a wait time until sometime January before being shipped.
As you know, I am an enthusiastic Platypus owner and also have a Bul EDC. I think this looks like a mix of the two in some ways. I'm amused that the slide release which seems like a very good thing to me ( and I think to you as well ) is seen as a strong negative by other reviewers on YT. I'm interested enough in this Fusion XP Pro that it may replace the front runner on my "want list" for 2025. I don't care much for Glocks but I find their magazines to be reliable and affordable. I just bought five G17 mags for less than the amount two "2011" mags for my LFA Apollo 11 cost me.
@@nickmorley9904 I've only seen one guy have issues with the slide release and he admitted that it was him not being able to adjust his hold on the gun. Fusion Firearms did reply to him to tell him that they're making a different slide stop for the gun...not sure if they're going to make that an option or outright make it so that all of them have a normal slide release. I'll be grabbing this gun next year (unless issues arise with the gun), as well as a comp Prodigy.
@@unixfool I've seen the video you referred to as well as another guntuber who disliked the extended slide release. Everyone has their own perception of things. I always have to use my support hand to activate the slide release unless I just slingshot the slide. Being able to reach and utilize that control with my right thumb appeals to me.
@@MarvinTurner-oc4mlI just picked up this firearm last week and took it out to run a couple hundred rounds through it. With the slide release the only thing I found is that it’s kind of in the way. Extremely comfy to use almost as a gas pedal but to keep your thumb out of its way to engage can be uncomfortable. I thought I had a faulty mag through the first few clips until I realized my thumb was naturally resting on that slide release. It’s a very comfy gun but putting your support hand on the gun naturally will have your slide release inoperable. Still happy with my purchase though. Red dot and tlr are on their way!
I have had some experience with Fusion Firearms, and while I found them very well made no one who was looking for a 1911 was interested due to the lack of brand recognition. I like the idea of "take a 2011 and fix the major issues by doing what Glock did". Also I still run my slide release that "classic" way, CZs have the same manual of arms.
That's a nice looking pistol. Unfortunately your TH-cam channel has a low subscription rate. Your knowledge and honesty is commendable. My husband will be mentioning your TH-cam channel when he goes to the LE range later this week. Hopefully your audience also promotes your TH-cam channel. If everyone could get a few people to subscribe 😃 Happy Thanksgiving too you, thanks again 😃🙏
@@lizzapaolia959 Absolutely! Originally, after watching HumbleMarksman's review, I immediately added my Stealth Arms Platypus Build into the cart upon his remarks about fitment. Being responsible, I wanted to personally wait another 3 days before making a final decision. I mean.. the Platypus is still $2K, and that is a lot of money! Then, Graham comes out with his video! I immediately deleted the Platypus from the Cart. That is how much his review means to me. The pistol looks fantastic! Full steel. Tennifer finish!!! Bull Barrel. No MIMs parts. Good trigger. Good weight for recoil management. NO 6-month WAIT TIME!!! But, I just don't know if I can get over the grips. Does one want to gamble on the hopes new grips will come out? Then, the fitment issue. I like to clean my pistols after each outing. So, the loose fitment argument for me is moot. But, I also understand demanding better fitment comes at a cost, and $1100 is a bargain for what you are getting. Decisions. Decisions. Thanks GBGunsMedia for the great video and making it a very difficult decision. 🤙🤙😎
I have a double stack 1911. I'm more interested in the new striker fired . Does anyone know when it is getting released? The first one reminded me of a glock and a vp9. If they change that back strap on the grip . I'll be the first one to order one .
I agree with you. And subscribers don’t necessarily equal views. A lot of people don’t realize that you can get 50,000 bot subscribers but it means nothing.
As a former Marine infantry NCO (0341) who was "blessed" with having a 1911 as T/O weapon...oh he** no!!! Even though I didn't have to, I and many others still drew our M16s from the armory...and put the 1911s into plastic bags then bagged them into the holster. Didn't care much for the Beretta either, but at least that one made some sense.
With it being imported by Fusion instead of bring made by Fusion there is hope. However, I'd look askance at anyone willfully entering a business deal with Fusion. No, just NO. Not a hard no, just flat-out no way I'd send any money to Fusion or anyone doing business with them.

As a staccato owner I agree. Tighter tolerances mean greater accuracy, but it also means you have to clean it more.

That's a huge reason why this or the platypus works for me.

The leaver and the fact it takes glock mags has me interested. Glock mags have always been very reliable.
Thank you for your great reviews and honesty.
You found my second channel!
I think that goes to the top of my list.

You have the best channel (s) out there . But you’re killing my budget. Would love to have one of these.
Oh I definitely plan on carrying it 😆 thanks GB
Your absolutely correct about those influences.
I personally can't watch those undisciplined......
Thanks again 😃🙏

Should one wait for the updated version, or be impulsive?!
I hope it's better than their 1911s. I had a Fusion "Riptide" Commander that was pure junk.
I have some hopes. HumbleMarksman did a video. Different perspective, but both pointed at the same fitment quality. One good, the other Bad.
Thanks for sharing that information.

Unfortunately "nah, not big enough" is the type of attitude we smaller channels encounter a LOT. Quantity over quality. 💯

@weldingjunkie That's true. However, it often sways the opinions of the companies you may want to work with.
They might want to make the serial # shorter. Some state make it a issue to print long Serial #'s on permits... Its a pain in the butt
Turkish serial numebrs are long indeed!
As a former Marine the 1911 rules I got out as they were moving on.
