    Bought mine in October, done with 7500km checks. Agree with most points. Faced the rubber noise issue, while steering right, got it checked and greased at 500km. The steering system is a new Gabriel setup, not the same used on 2019 polo. Hence the issue, I was told. Overall, best drivers car and value for money.

    Hi Bro, after watching your first video on VW Polo, I have purchased the same car / same color / TSI on Dec 2020, now completed 4.7K km.
    I was driving Bangalore to Goa and had the similar incident, my front right tyre got cut as the car fell into a massive pothole.
    Now when I cross 110kmph I feel vibrations, how did you get to know that the alloy had a bend ?
    I am going to do a wheel balancing and see if the issue resolves.

    • @Chirayughai
      @Chirayughai 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s called a creep groan, almost all automatic cars with high power make that noise. When you release the brake pedal slowly, the brake will make noise, because the power release on the new polo is tremendous. This should happen while you move ahead, as well as in reverse gear. Unfortunately, you will have to get used this noise.

    for a rational buyer, this is a very old, hard to drive vehicle at this point of time. the hydraulic steering which is hard to manure in the city, a harder clutch , noisy engine, awkward driving position, narrow and old interior which is way to harsh for everyday use. inside rear view mirror blocks view on left side, you will miss a biker from a pocket road on your left and getting into the main road. it is also small and not very helpful for its ourpose. so small are the ORVMs. driving position is very close to the front windshield (5' 10") so i get headache when driving in the sun due to the heat from windshield. Seats are netted like your office chair; cushion on top of it is not adequate I felt... not very comfortable. bent alloy is a familiar sight. unless you fancy 'vw' tata altroz with a torque converter GBox could have been a practical alternative! (personally not a fan of hyundai)
    from the service side, VW said only yearly service @ 15K kms but you will visit service center thrice a year :D
    good things are the Tsi engine which has no comparison in the market now and the torque converter transmission -which most guys would miss out due to the price.
    Very Interesting to see how polo drivers come up with innovative excuses to coverup the cars' shortcomings lol! :D :D :D if you have cash, go 4 GT. it is not at all a second car option for a family with a budget.

    • @ReviewingIndian
      @ReviewingIndian  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think you haven't got a clue about what you are talking 😂...it's steering is not very heavy and feels precise. Tsi clutch is very light and engine is tolerably noisy ( unless you ar used to S class ). Driving position is spot on ( for most of us humans) and I never felt IRVM blocking anything on left side ( unless you are a 7 foot giraffe 😂) . My brother who is 5'11" never complained about driving position. Seats are firm but never inadequate ( I have driven 500+ kms in a single day). And I'm not justifying anything instead I feel like these issues are only specific to you ( don't know the reason). I'm saying with experience ( used Elite i20 for 2 years) and I'm much more happier with Polo. Who said you have to take it to service centre 3 times a year ( most of period maintenance mentioned are check ups). Unless you owned a lemon. I have not paid anything other than for washing and fluid change ( covered 7000 kms so far). My Bent alloy was due to the load (4 people) and massive pothole ( at least 3/4 feet deep). And bent alloys can happen in any alloy wheeled car ( My friends brezza had same issue). Interiors might be old ( for you). It feels classy for me and durable. And no one's pushing people to buy Polo, it happens as a result of concious choice (+ a bit of love )...

    Very nice review brother, thanks a lot for your effort to reveal your experience.
    I clocked about 8k and the general service is due on may 2021. So far, I only faced the following issues:
    - engine jerking at low rpm
    - engine self rev at 1k rpm ( I call it the overexcited rev of the tsi) engine rev on it’s own without foot action
    - steering intermittent noise (low but definitely there)
    - break rust after car wash and unbearable noise at initial stop after car wash
    - mushy breaks in emergency situations
    - steering control issue ( play backward button pause the music, I need to press several times or press the touchscreen to move to previous track)
    - music system intermittent death freeze ( becomes unresponsive for no logical reasons)
    - low mileage if using any other oil than shell petrol vpower
    Most of the issues will be addressed to Vw at the time of the general service for a permanent resolution.
    I can also see that you rev the engine hard past 3k rpm. Sure the engine can sustain that sort rev band but I strongly discourage it as it could shorten your engine life. I have personally notice that a gentle throttle action move the car better and better speed can be achieved under 3k rpm. Once you hit 120kmph the rpm will transit to 3k and will hardly cross it even at 140kmph. If your city has a shell petrol pump, please use vpower. It is costlier granted but trust me the performance is on point.
    The sad news is that few vehicles hit my car on the left side while it was parked. I wished I could identify the culprit but helas...
    I am glad to see you will be installing a rear cam from Vw itself. I got a mirror like dash cam with a rear cam for about 6k on amazon that works supremely well. While reversing it activates the rear cam and while driving it records on both side. I thought it was a better deal since I can record my trips at 1080p. I even recorded someone reversing and hitting from the front. He could hardly argue since the whole thing was “on tape”.
    That’s all from me for now. Thanks again for the great work!
    Best regards

      Is it the dsg jerking?

    • @MrLanmx
      @MrLanmx 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @althurules you will not get a dsg on a polo from 2020 onward. The last dsg I drove was not jerking at all…unless you somewhat been driving real hard and fast to the extent where moving from a still position jerks a bit but really…almost unnoticeably. The jerk would be more prominent on your manual transmission if at all there would be any factors leading to it.

    • @thurules
      @thurules 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MrLanmx okay, did all these issues you mentioned here got resolved or are you still facing it? Also coould you elaborate on the engine jerk issue

    • @MrLanmx
      @MrLanmx 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @althurules the mileage is better nowadays. But really I came to realise that many other factors may have an impact, especially partially deflated tyres. For my 195/55r16, I keep refilling the nitro every 2weeks as I hardly drive 10km a day. 38 - 36 for the rear and 35 for front tyres is ideal.
      The “overexcited rev of the tsi” is still very much there. I addressed it to the showroom but they had of no clue of what that is. The car “behaved “ 😂 the days I took for a checkup and never exhibited it. I decided to overlook it. But sometimes it can be so freaking strange to watch your car Reving on its own.
      I replaced the front break assembly…yes disk +pads for 8k in Bangalore. During the first service they said it was too early to replace the pad. They didn’t properly check. Around 16k the breaks would behave like I was trying to stop an old heavy truck. It was unbearable and unreliable. The guys at the showroom said the only way forward is to replace the brakes…and so did I. The sound from the brakes reduced to a fair extent for these new ones are great. The bite is good and you can really stop the car confidently even during an emergency.
      I gave up upon the music control on the steering. Not a big deal I just decided to live with it. Rather use the touch screen to select previous track (which is the only problem in that context).
      Overall the car has become a beast capable of reaching 140 on the highway without breaking a sweat, fully planted and hard cornering. Even body roll is very well contained despite the weight of the car. Those OEM MRF tyres offer really good grip even at 18k. But nowadays they tend to kinda float under hard acceleration and cornering. If you would get a polo now, please replace the tyres to Michelins primacy 4, continental ultra contact 6 and the best of the moment yoko gt ae51…rated as best premium tourer in 2021. Do not change the tyre size if you want mileage and cornering.
      Finally the jerk issue I used to face happened while moving from the first gear even on gentle foot action or while the ac is on. It was unbearable. Almost like you are trying to move the car on a high gear and suddenly remember to downshift. After the first service I felt it was not as prominent. However if I end up revving hard over 3k continuously enthusiastically and the engine get the rpm “in the mood for some action” and I try to drive more sedately, the jerks at low rpm start showing up. The other time I felt the jerk is when I had use some other petrol other than my shell vpower. All the smoothness run out the window.
      I have adjusted my sitting posture and many other issues like steering feel, hard gear stick, most of those disappeared
