Locked myself out! Wife and I drove together to her friends house, I dropped her and left for Home Depot. When we left home I did not have my key in my pocket but she did had hers in her purse. Whoops! Fortunately she was not to far away so l got saved, but I’m still being reminded “DO YOU HAVE YOUR KEY” every F**king time I drive her 🚗. 😍😡😎
Same scenario but the store .... all my frozen foods thawed I didn't have phone to contact on call The remote died while I was inside the store ... just has to be a better back back up up plan... in these cases put us in extreme bad situation and not safe till ride came
Yes, the car has a lot of secrets when I picked up the my kid from the line from school I opened the trunk to put backpack , I did not turn off car, but when I returned, the car was turned off and put on the Parking which was an unusual super Parking I couldn’t even go at first because I didn’t I expected that my car was parked at some other Parking option, because my car was new, I just bought it, I didn’t fully know its tricks yet , so Volvo is super protect us🤪
I really want to know how replace and monitor health of the second battery since I heard from a user in Thailand that his car without clue Turned to safe mode because of the second batt was dead.

When using the remote app to start vehicle from inside or outside of the vehicle. Will definitely need the key fob or the emergency key located in the key fob. The emergency key will have to be placed inside the center console for the car to be started. Please note that when you use any of the methods mentioned to start the vehicle. You must place your foot on the break push down while at the same time, turn the knob to start the vehicle. Not sure why when the key was thrown from the vehicle the alert didn’t show that the key isn’t in the car. That is a major issue.
There may be a solution to this: They should invent a fob which has a protrusion that can be put into a small slit next to the steering wheel. This way the probability of misplacement is minimal. It even could act as a logical key for being able to start the car.
When ‘Key not found’ shows up on dash, which is within 100meters of leaving it behind, you turn the car around and go get it. You don’t switch off the engine. How is this hard?
Question: so you know the slightly older Volvos where they have the key holder next to the start button, I’ve realized that I can start and drive the vehicle without the key in the holder. What is the point of putting the key in there in the first place??
stupid system for stupid person like me...I left key on the roof and find out I lost it after driving 30km...it should come message no key found if you drive more than 3meters..my all previous vehicles done it .. as well walk away locking way more nice than you have to lock by pressing finger on the handle

That problem might have been solved because my XC40 signals if i leave the key in my wife's purse (for example) and i drive away from her... mine was bought in 2019/09

The app only can remote start but when you try to drive it will look for the key and still won’t move.

There is no remote start button, I 'v got free 3 year subscription "Volvo on call", so I can start it remotely by using cellphone

I read if the Volvo red key (or guest key) is left in the car than you can start the car and go, by using the app.

@@OutOfNameIdeas2 Door sensors wont work if you don't have the keys with you.
Also lesson learnt in order to drive the car with remote start put your foot on the brake and press the start button

Another reason I hate keyless cars. Obviously its not possible to drive off in a car that has a proper ignition key.

I own 2018 and have driven the other newer models and haven’t seen them with both push to start and the turn to start.
