Ok I have a question, why is it at 21:32 or move 50 in the game between rapport and liren not a draw? I tried for around 20 min to find the moves that wouldnt end in a draw and win for black but I cant find them. What I see is that the bishop from black is useless because it only gets the g2 pawn and defends the g4 or h5 pawn(if it gets there), meanwhile the white bishop stops the b pawn every single time of getting anywhere close to promotion because if he gets on the b2 square he gets eaten and the black King also has to take him so he doesnt stop the other pawn. But during that time the king can run like usain bolt to f4 e5 f6 into g6 or g5 and depending on the black bishop he can take the pawn because his own pawn has to be stopped from promotion (and only the bishop can catch up). SO I only found draws and Situations where the moves get repeated infinitly. ALSO I dont even understand why rapport would go for e6 instead of f6 to hunt the black pawns? If he goes for f6 there is nothing black can do to stop him from taking the h pawn because the bishop is 1 turn to late from saving the h pawn PLS Help, also Gotham your recaps of the tournaments are really easy to digest and also entertaining with your dry sense of humor
If you go f6 to go for h6 pawn you would have to sack your bishop on b2 and black king is fast enought to get to your pawns, at the end g4 pawn (guarded by bishop) promotes
@@imax22_85 appreciate your answer, after reading it I played it out again and saw that yes the king can be locked on the h file while the bishop protects the pawn from being taken and during that time the black king can just prepare his king to take the bishop on b2. Interestingly, one single mistake could cost you the win so thats why the bar always changed extremely after certain moves during that endgame
I really enjoy your sports analogies and expressive commentary. The games themselves are interesting and your analysis is quality and understandable, but the extra flair make these videos especially enjoyable to me

Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you
Bozooo
Yeah I see these strange black shadows running around my house laughing like kids like I don’t even have kids lol
Clicked in a heart beat, thanks for the recaps, easier way to catch up after a long day.
3:22 Magnus actually won this game in Norway Chess against none other than Teimour himself. I think that probably led to Teimour reviewing the line and playing more accurately.
"EMOTIONAL DAMAGE!?" Gotta love these recaps
Steven he approves👍
Agadmator took over Levy’s soul for a second at 6:36
The line in the first game you mention was indeed played by Teimour, he mentioned it himself in the post game interview.
At the end of the day, Rapport is gonna Rapport, and I am here for it.
The perfect evening to make some food and then you see, that Levi has uploaded. Thank you, Thank you for the content you are gifting us with every other day. We love you, Levi!
Rapport sacrificing at the candidates like the magician.
Hikaru. Seriously should be up to his balls in this tournament. Extraordinary to be this good while still streaming full time. His dedication to chess is only beaten by his dedication to his community. Mad respect 🙏
Yeah
Tbh he took some time off to prepare and only streamed TT and RCC so he cares
10:11 Pause
We are in the golden era of gothamchess.
Ding didn't move his bishop at C8 in the whole game......
I hate it how ding game was so much more interesting than hikaru’s
i love the "g1 g2 g3 HIKARU" in the timeline
1st day of translating Levy's titles into Slovak: "Hikaru: PERFEKTNÁ Hra..."
So true when you are a parent you start to hear things all the time.
3:30 I believe Radjabov mentioned losing a similar game against Magnus recently when he was interviewed today
Rapport is such a beauty man. Every game is entertaining
Hikaru could win the whole thing👀
"You trying to smash 😂 😂" lol.
Killled me.
In my opinion it would by hugely disrespectful and childish from magnus to not play the winner of the candidates. If he doesnt want to play then he should retire...
Otherwise he just shits on the efforts of the guy who gave his best winning the candidates!
If he declines to defend the title it's because he respects the top 2 challengers and wants them both to have the chance to win it
Ok I have a question, why is it at 21:32 or move 50 in the game between rapport and liren not a draw?
If he goes for f6 there is nothing black can do to stop him from taking the h pawn because the bishop is 1 turn to late from saving the h pawn
PLS Help, also Gotham your recaps of the tournaments are really easy to digest and also entertaining with your dry sense of humor
I’m gay no one will see this
Good to know
That Rapport Liren recap was the funniest thing I've ever seen :D great game, great commentary!
I really enjoy your sports analogies and expressive commentary. The games themselves are interesting and your analysis is quality and understandable, but the extra flair make these videos especially enjoyable to me
Beside being a FIDE candidates, Duda should be an Oscar candidates too for that acting.
14:30 there is also interesting line when white plays Sg4 and when black takes there is mating threads
Hikaru just executed Alireza
Petition to name a knight sacrifice "Rapport's Gambit". Also Hikaru, what a legend
If Ian cruises to candidates just to be destroyed again by Magnus is gonna be the proof that Carlsen is the goat because of the gap between him and his peers
