I really loved this, too! Listened to the audiobook and really liked the amazing production. The one thing I wasn't a huge fan of was how GOOD Padmé was. The Padmé is a no faults always caring super duper nice competent woman narrative just irks me a bit. What I loved most was how much it tied in to the way Anakin falls to the dark side and how much depth it gave him as a character and his relationships with everyone important in his life. This was totally a favorite for me, too.
I really enjoyed Ruug and Mill as new characters. Mill for forging her own unique path true to her emotions, and Ruug for providing a much needed look at women in Neimoidian culture.
Y'know Obi-Wan's personality in Attack Of The Clones is kind of weird now, he talks about how a commitment to the jedi order is not easily broken and yet he tells Satine that he would've left the order if Satine had asked
I used to feel the same way about obi wan's character in light of Satine, but I've started to see it differently. Now I see it as strengthening his characterization, because at one time his commitment truly wavered, but he managed restore his devotion to the Order and held on to that for the rest of his career.
I've been seeing this on store shelves a lot recently, so I'm glad to hear that it's good! Sounds a lot like Master And Apprentice which I loved, so I'll definitely be picking it up the first chance I get!
I just read Lost Stars and holy hell what an awesome book. I’ve never cried when reading a book but this one did it. I love thane and Ciena so much 🥺 we need a sequel. I’m currently reading catalyst. Thrawn trilogy is pending along with Battlefront 2 that you also recommended so I’m looking forward to that! When you say battlefront 2 dethroned lost stars I was like “blasphemy!” Lol but I shall see.
We would NOT have this story if Chen didn’t take notes from and appreciate how EK Johnston wrote the Padmé books 🥰
Right beautiful

I think his love for satine hypnotised him

I'll read the book sometime after I'm done phase 1 of the high republic
