My favorite character is Simon Belmont. In Judgement he has a good personality. Golem in Judgement also is a good character, he was more human that many people. Have a good night QG!
10: I have mixed feelings for Leon. For one, he caused the Belmonts to bear the burden of hunting Dracula for nearly a thousand years. Kinda harsh. But on the other hand, if it wasn't for his lineage, Dracula would go the way of Thanos and win. And his theme song, Lament of Innocence, is one of the best in the series. 9: I am actually fond of werewolves. 8: The reason Death is second only to Dracula is because of Dracula's powerful magic stone. The only games where Death was Dracula's enemy was in the non canon Lords of Shadow games. 7: I like to think she and Jonathan hooked up a few years after the fight against Brauner traveling with him when he went looking for Julius Belmont. 6: He's one of the best boss fights too. I love fights involving vampire hunters. 5: He was arguably even more sympathetic in the anime. 4: Another vampire hunter who made for one of the best boss fights in the game. If only we got a game all about him. Think about it; we need one more mainstream Castlevania game in the style of something like the classics. We need it just to see the Demon Castle Wars. 3: Am I the only one who gave him bunny ears and tail? Like the white rabbit he is obsessed with time. I also wanna see another Judgement game. And please put Julius and Soma in it. 2: As much as I love Alucard, there is just something in me that finds the Belmonts more intriguing; I feel like it's because they are mere humans yet are powerful enough to kill Death and Dracula. Honorable Mention: Personally, Hector from Curse of Darkness is one of my favorite characters in the series for three reasons. One, his powers as a Devil Forgemaster, being able to raise some pretty nifty familiars. Two, said powers made Zead try to make him into Dracula. He's so badass that the bad guys wanted to make him another bad guy. And who could blame them? That white hair is ideal for a vessel of Dracula. Three, some time after Curse of Darkness was released, Hector actually would become Dracula by proxy. That is to say he is voiced by Crispin Freeman, who later acted in Hellsing Ultimate. 1: NO WAY! Soma is one of my favorites as well, but I was expecting someone like Trevor Belmont.
No, you weren't the only one who put bunny ears and tail on Aeon. I also liked to put the cat ears and tail on him of either white or black. It made him look adorable. 😂 I would love to see another judgment game. I want to see Aeon in more games to learn more about him. Also to see other characters making it to the roster, too. It wouldn't kill them to make that.
shadowshinobi06 but being iconic doesnt really mean instant favorite character. example. Mario is the most iconic character in video game history. but that doesn't instantly make him eligible to be on my favorite mario characters
Even though I haven't played a single Castlevania game yet, what I'm getting from your #1 is that he's basically the inspiration for Robin in F.E. Awakening...
I'm with you, dude! Aeon IS awesome! I like him so much that I've started incorporating him into my own stories as an overseer, much like his original design.
Wow, while most fans love Alucard, I rarely see anyone decide Soma over him. Yeah I'm one of those, like you. Some fact here, Soma's last name in original Japanese game is actually Kuruzu (来須). Which I like the idea when they changed it in the English for Cruz, sounds neat and not changing too much from original. And.... WHERE THE HELL IS THE FIGHT OF '99, KONAMI !? WE WANT TO SEE HOW JULIUS BEAT THE CRAP OUT OF DRACULA PERMANENTLY, WE REALLY WANT IT !! ....Yeah, Konami is Konami afterall.
Milen Anessar Actually... within the cannon installments, there are literally two movies with the battle of ‘99 being the movie named “the demon castle war” so... I guess in Konami’s perspective, the movie already took the spot.
Kinda saw number 1 coming, but then again I've been following you for a while. Still, what a great list and a good way to start off Castlevania Month! Looking forward to the next list! :D Also, kudos to owning up to your mistakes in the past; I personally didn't see the Magma Dragoon incident as that big a deal, but still kudos :)
My most favorite character in the series is Cornell from Legacy of Darkness. I think he's a really cool character and I like how he's willing to risk everything to protect his adopted sister Ada. And I like how his true ending in Judgment actually starts at the beginning of Legacy of Darkness.
In addition to Soma's character, there's also his boss battle in Julius mode of Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow. Idk, I just really like that Battle, from the way he used his souls to attack, and the music (one of the best in the series, imo).
I like how Leon is not only brave enough to enter the castle with only a dagger but is also the only Belmont not trained to fight against the armies of darkness (being the first) and still kicks both a vampire lord and Death's asses.
When I played Aria of Sorrow I didn't know that different endings were possible. They purposefully make the ending feel really dissatisfying and I just thought "eh this is how it ends I guess", then I Googled around what the clues were that you find throughout the game and I realized that they are souls to equip for the TLB! That game's ending was AWESOME.
+SnazzyjazzBro I hardly have experience with the classic CVs. I only played the original, Dracula X Chronicles, and Adventure Rebirth, the rest of them, were metroidvanias before playing Lords of Shadow. I say that among the the CV characters, Gabriel is for me the most intriguing and interesting
*SPOILER ANALYSIS (DON'T READ UNTIL AFTER YOU'VE WATCHED!):* #10: Aww...kinda disappointed he's not higher on the list. I love Leon. Something about Leon's character seemed so genuinely nice, yet focused on what was truly important to him. Like you had said, Leon was the one who basically started the war of the Belmont clan vs. Dracula. And in my opinion, Leon's reasoning for fighting these vampires were more sincere than keeping up the family name, like Simon and Trevor for example. Not that Simon and Trevor don't have their own reasons for being good characters. #9: Good reasoning. But again, I think Leon's backstory and Leon's motivations for his actions were of much greater importance to the Castlevania franchise overall. If I was the person making this list, I would have definitely switched Cornell with Leon. #8: Death. An imposing figure. He's awesome. No other words need be said. #7: I agree. Charlotte was definitely the brighter of the two. Very helpful. Jonathan was just a total fireball. Always jumping on anything that moved. #6: God, I love his battle music. Albus made for a much more complex character than Shanoa. I like Shanoa, but even I have to admit that there wasn't really much for her to work with. That twist of the whole brother-sister relationship caught me off guard. *...dat gun doe.* #5: Ooooooo. I'm glad that version of Dance of Illusions is getting some love. Seriously though, feel free to take pot-shots at Konami all you want. Usually, I'm against that type of thing, but they f*cked up big time. Dracula is one of the best video-game villains that ever existed. A classic. Period. *What is a man? A miserable little pile of secrets.* #4: (Heart of Fire) ONE OF THE ALL-TIME GREATEST THEMES FROM CASTLEVANIA! HANDS DOWN, FANBOYS! (MMM!) LOVE IT! (*ahem*) Ah, yes. Julius. Agreed. A clan member well-worthy of the name "Belmont" (Sorry, Leon.) I'm still waiting on a game depicting Julius' battle with Dracula. I think a lot of people still wait that game. *Thanks, Konami, for never making that happen.* (glares) #3: Knew he'd be here. Personal preferences, I guess. He's alright. But this raises a question. What would you say is the difference between Aeon and Saint Germain? #2: No need for explanation. Alucard deserves as high a spot as this. #1: Not surprising. Ran out of words to say for this one. But yeah...Soma FTW. Great start to the month, QG! Can't wait for Castlevania Themes! Really looking forward to what your favorite themes are. I wonder if some of mine will make it on yours.
Okay, it is the month of Halloween, so why not? 10. What better character to start the list than the first Belmont. To continue the legacy, Leon would have had to marry another woman. He lost everything. In a way, he reminds me of Izanagi and how he lost his love Izanami to the forces of darkness, tried to rescue her and failed. Kinda makes me wish Charlotte would go back in time, use Sanctuary on Sera and combine parts of their two spirits to forge the whip. And dude was voiced by Dave Wittenberg. Powerful props. 9. Cornell, the werewolf? Okay, Twilight gave insight on this. Not to mention he's voiced by the same guy who voiced Xemnas. Mad props. Never heard of the other guy. And for a creature of the night he's actually not bad. Plus, one of the thirteen chosen warriors to stop the Time Reaper. Nice. He's also like Zelos, in one aspect, he cares for his sister. 8. Oh boy, Scythe Weilder Number 1. He will come for us in one time or another. Kinda makes you want to ask "Death, why are you Dracula's lackey?" And he be another of the thirteen. 7. Oh yeah, Stephanie Sheh is in the house. I love Charlotte. But don't call her a child or she will make an anime face you want on a t-shirt. She could give Sypha a few pointers. And she did help Johnathan in more ways than one, especially with Astarte. 6. Wow, you gave it to Shanoha's "Brother". Plus, he's helpful and a tragic boss fight., and he gave his life and Soul to stop Dracula. That is powerful. 5. Ah, the very monster that started it all. Dracula can really lay it down. Remember Serena and Maria, along with other female Vampires, and Vampire's in general? He started them all. And I have to agree with everything you said. 4. You know' you're right! Julius should get his own game. A 19-year old Julius can take down Dracula in 1999. We should make a kickstarter on it. 3. The numero uno Chronokinetic Aeon. Master of all time. Kinda makes you wonder if he can make a Castlevania Judgment 2 with more characters, and he would be in the roster. And nice pun. 2. Ah yes, Alucard, the son of Dracula. He had quite the beauty sleep and he, like Zero, has a lot of character development. And I'm having Astro Man follow his words: "You must always remember that the only way for evil to triumph, is for good men to do nothing." HM: Eric Lecarde is good, portait: good. Bloodlines, Good, Judgment, WHY?! Hector, Zelgadis only more serious. Brauner: The number 6 battle painter based on a real artist. In fact, PoR was based around it. 1. Your Eleventh favorite game character is number 1 on this list, sweet. We can learn a lot from Soma. But I bet because of his power of dominance, he would be beyond broken and that is why he did not make the roster in Judgment. Next time, Music maestro. Bring out the Dancing Spectres.
YESSSSS I'M SO GLAD SOMEONE FINALLY AGREES THAT SOMA IS THE SINGLE BEST CHARACTER IN ALL OF CASTLEVANIA !!! I also loved finding Julius so close to numbed 1 on the list, given that Dawn of Sorrow was my entrance into the series, I have a major bias towards the DoS crew. Menace is also one of the coolest boss fights I've ever experiences. BUT ENOUGH RANTS! HAVE AT YOU!
Because Aria of Sorrow is one of the best Castlevania games ever made. Dawn of Sorrow though... Disgusting. The Rune system and the art change really just lowered what could have been an amazing sequel to something that I would use as an excuse to play Castlevania for the N64
Probably not the first Belmont in terms of the name, he had parents after all, but the first Belmont that swore to hunt the night, a tradition every Belmont afterward would follow.
Another example of a good guy manipulator with time powers would be Clockwork, from Danny Phantom. :) Relevant to the video; little, but I felt the need to state that once I noticed that similarity with your number 3 pick.
well are you kidding me, i am pretty happy that tastes a different. List began really cool and gets weak in the end.simon is the best, or definetly in the top ten.he was not only the hero when the series starts, he also was in the hero in cv 2, wich is still one of the reasons why games like sotn were born.
#10- this guy is the first Belmont and i love him since you were right. His decendants have inherit Leon's moral fortitude. Too bad he got disliked. #9- this guy also got underrated but i love werewolves as well as vamps. I mean i like he got control over his curse. #8- wow both a master manipulator and a badass! Huh.........YOU BETTER NEED TO TAKE HIS SYCTHE FROM HIS COLD DEAD HANDS! #7- Jonathan's a fucking fireball so its a good contrast of that duo. Fire x Ice= Charolette x Johnathan yep count that ship. DO THAT PLS! #6- a big brother with one powerful gun.........awesome! Shanoa maybe bland but i love Albus for his sacrifices. Even though Shanoa and Albus arent related, its still cool. #5- THE LORD OF DARKNESS IS COMING TO TAKE YOUR BLOOD! Seriously those guys wont swipe that title from this prince of darkness. So you better be careful. #4- GET DOWN ON THE GROUND CHUCK THIS GUY IS GOING TO KICK YOUR ASS! Just be sincere, for a guy this old, this guy wrecks ass. And he actually stole the "STRONGEST BELMONT" title from Ricther for that defeat of Dracula. I understand why he needs to hold back. F YOU KONAMI! #3- i like Aeon for being a puppet master who has good intentions. Sakuya, DUMP DIO AND BE WITH THIS GUY INSTEAD! I think both St. Germain and Aeon are the same thing, time travellers and guardians of time. #2- Like Blade (from Marvel), this guy needs no intro for how badass he is. Blade and Alucard are half vamps half humans who controlls their bloodlust. I like how he became Genya. And he taught us that our fates arent bounded by bloodlines. #1- *Last Supirse Persona 5* HANDS DOWN THIS GUY IS SO GOOD! You're right, our fates arent bound by stone and thus our actions only manipulate it. He nearly NEARLY lost Mina like how Dracula and Alucard lost Lisa, though Genya(Alucard) steps in. Now thats ice cold defiance.
Shanoa is my fav character to play. From mechanics to appearance to animations. She seems really powerful. It's such a shame that they had all of her personality wiped out.
True. Order of Ecclesia had awesome gameplay, if not the best. It definitivly had the best side character mode with Albus but Shanoa felt even better. She is super fast, makes tons of damage and has a good reach. Only the non-melee weapons are a bit arkward. She still had personality but personality can hardly show with no emotions and memories. But she regained her emotions through out the game. And yes, the animations are really good as well as her design.
@@Devdraco You play the game wrong if you are never able to attack. Most enemies die before the MP is at zero. Those who don't attack you so that the magic almost completly refills while you dodge only a single attack. You probably never played Order of Ecclesia.
-Charlotte sounds great. I will play PoR soon. -Aeon...haven't played Judgement...YET -Julius...cool as ice. -Alucard...same here. -Soma...gotta play Dawn of Sorrow once and Aria again.
great vid as always ^^ but can i ask a silly question .... the belmont clan .... what makes them different from each other ? all of them have the same skills , the same holy "grand" cross ultimate move , and all of thhem use a whip as his weapon .... so is there a difference between a belmont and another belmont ? pls answer thx ^^
Ah, Juste ( Richter's grandpa ) is quite cool too. He is the first Belmont who can use magic like Belnades clan ( due to Belnades blood in his vein , courtesy of Sypha Belnades i think )
Ah, i forget that he's also the fastest of the Belmonts... and also the first one who can modify his whip with bullet tips, platinums and elemental stone, i think.
If I recall correctly, Death bows to Dracula because Dracula isn't just a simple vampire but rather the equal and opposite to God, or whatever passes for God in the Castlevania universe. He likely bows his head because Dracula has conquered death itself so he has to respect it.
We appreciate you Quarter guy. No Simon or Trevor though really??? Good list I was surprised you put Drac at 5 I was like o now I need to keep watching.
The moment I clicked on this video, I knew one thing: Alucard was going to be high on it, but Soma would be number 1.... I agree with you QG, Soma is worthy of number 1.... if we judge abilities, his were the most unique which lead to some interesting "Subweapons" as for personality, he fits there too, he's not gonna let the fact that he's Drac's reincarnation rule his life... so even if we get a third entry in the Sorrow saga, we know that Mr. Cruz will battle his fate again.... also, yeah... where is that battle of 1999 game, Konami? I hope some fan can make a better job at this than Konami can.... Cause I wanna witness the epic legendary battle, spoken off in the past

I agree: Soma Cruz is the coolest Castlevania character ever.
In addition to Soma's character, there's also his boss battle in Julius mode of Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow. Idk, I just really like that Battle, from the way he used his souls to attack, and the music (one of the best in the series, imo).
I like how Leon is not only brave enough to enter the castle with only a dagger but is also the only Belmont not trained to fight against the armies of darkness (being the first) and still kicks both a vampire lord and Death's asses.
i'm surprised you did not mention death's design in dawn of sorrow the irony would have been hilarious from your POV
14:55 my heart is stopped in this moment, but is Happiness
Charlotte = Hermione
HOW DID YOU KNOW HER RESEMBELANCE??????? O.O
I DON'T KNOW MAN O.O AND I'LL PROBABLY NEVER WILL!!!!!!!
Jonathan is basically Ron with whips lmao
Damn quarter guy you say the word determination so much in this video I could almost swear it's a video about undertale
Charlotte Aulin is also a part the Clan Belnades. And so she is a Belmont. Cool right?
Alucard, Richter, and Maria will always be my favorites
When I played Aria of Sorrow I didn't know that different endings were possible. They purposefully make the ending feel really dissatisfying and I just thought "eh this is how it ends I guess", then I Googled around what the clues were that you find throughout the game and I realized that they are souls to equip for the TLB! That game's ending was AWESOME.
I’m convinced that Julius Belmont is chuck norris in disguise
Can you do a list of Top 10 Belmonts? And do you plan on doing a Top 10 Best CV Game List?
Julius whooped Dracula so bad he reincarnated as a good guy!
Castlevania Aria of Sorrow #1!!!!!! Hooray!!! I she like games. Yes!
How many of me are there on this site? O_O
Idk
I haven't watched the first five seconds of the video and I already know that aeon is gonna be high on the list
In Lament of Innocence there is a stone that can influence death if i remember correctly
"Move over Bean Boy"Congratulations, now Logan is pissed. Good show my friend, good show.
Due to my only experience being the Lords of Shadow trilogy my favorite has got to be Gabriel Belmont.
+SnazzyjazzBro I hardly have experience with the classic CVs. I only played the original, Dracula X Chronicles, and Adventure Rebirth, the rest of them, were metroidvanias before playing Lords of Shadow. I say that among the the CV characters, Gabriel is for me the most intriguing and interesting
burra007 Me too.
*SPOILER ANALYSIS (DON'T READ UNTIL AFTER YOU'VE WATCHED!):*
#10: Aww...kinda disappointed he's not higher on the list.
*...dat gun doe.*
#5: Ooooooo. A miserable little pile of secrets.*
#4: (Heart of Fire) ONE OF THE ALL-TIME GREATEST THEMES FROM CASTLEVANIA!
*Thanks, Konami, for never making that happen.* (glares)
#3: Knew he'd be here.
Shanoa wasn't bad. That is the best you can get out of someone whos memories and emotions got erased.
And I'm having Astro Man follow his words: "You must always remember that the only way for evil to triumph, is for good men to do nothing."
HM: Eric Lecarde is good, portait: good.
Idk why, but I got so excited when he said that Soma Cruz was in the number 1 spot 😂
Because Aria of Sorrow is one of the best Castlevania games ever made. Dawn of Sorrow though... Disgusting. The Rune system and the art change really just lowered what could have been an amazing sequel to something that I would use as an excuse to play Castlevania for the N64
Aeon sounds like the creators took direct influence from The Doctor himself for his character.
Good list, but how in blazes is Simon not on here? Also missing Richter, Trevor, Syfa Belnades, and Grant Dynasty.
so Leon is the first Belmont
chronologically
Unless you count Lords of Shadow. Which you shouldn't.
Probably not the first Belmont in terms of the name, he had parents after all, but the first Belmont that swore to hunt the night, a tradition every Belmont afterward would follow.
IT BEGINS
Another example of a good guy manipulator with time powers would be Clockwork, from Danny Phantom. :)
Relevant to the video; little, but I felt the need to state that once I noticed that similarity with your number 3 pick.
So, QG, how do you feel about Simon Belmont then?
At 6:02, Jonathan is teaching the Brauner about RRELIGIONNNNNNNNN
Soma is awesome
Alucard kinda reminds me off Giorno Giovannia from JoJo Part 5. Despite being the son of Dio Brando he followed his own path and became a hero
Now if we got Dio's reincarnation as Part 9 protagonist....
well are you kidding me, i am pretty happy that tastes a different.
List began really cool and gets weak in the end.simon is the best,
or definetly in the top ten.he was not only the hero when the series starts,
he also was in the hero in cv 2, wich is still one of the reasons why games like sotn
were born.
Aw. No end joke? Sad... oh well. Looking forward to the next list!
Julius beat Dracula so hard he slapped his ass into an 18 yr old anime boi
love the list but I have a question. Why were both Lords of Shadow and Lords of Shadow 2 not brought up?
My favorite characters is Simon Belmont and Count Dracula.
2:45 YES NOW I KNOW WHERE HE COMES FROM(didn't know a thing about him in judgement other then the fact he was a werewolf)
Wow, the first video is done already?
Shanoa is my fav character to play. From mechanics to appearance to animations. She seems really powerful. It's such a shame that they had all of her personality wiped out.
Yeah, take out the MP-draining attacks and you might be on to something...
@@Devdraco
The MP fills within seconds.
@@Ninjaananas Constantly. Constantly draining so that you have to wait before being able to attack.
@@Devdraco
You play the game wrong if you are never able to attack. Most enemies die before the MP is at zero. Those who don't attack you so that the magic almost completly refills while you dodge only a single attack.
You probably never played Order of Ecclesia.
-Charlotte sounds great. I will play PoR soon.
-Aeon...haven't played Judgement...YET
-Julius...cool as ice.
-Alucard...same here.
-Soma...gotta play Dawn of Sorrow once and Aria again.
No Richter, Trevor, or Simon? A bit surprising, but at least less predictable. Nice video.
i wish there's a new sorrow series
simon should been 1
+THE ULTIMATE GAMING CHANNEL Really? As bland as he is?
hes good
hes in the two first castlevania games
+The Quarter Guy have you read simon's lore?
+The Quarter Guy You disrespecting the OG Belmont?
Ritcher,Simon,Soma and alucard are my favourite
HE HELD BACK
great vid as always ^^ but can i ask a silly question .... the belmont clan .... what makes them different from each other ? all of them have the same skills , the same holy "grand" cross ultimate move , and all of thhem use a whip as his weapon .... so is there a difference between a belmont and another belmont ? pls answer thx ^^
wow thx so much for the info ^^
Ah, Juste ( Richter's grandpa ) is quite cool too. He is the first Belmont who can use magic like Belnades clan ( due to Belnades blood in his vein , courtesy of Sypha Belnades i think )
Ah, i forget that he's also the fastest of the Belmonts... and also the first one who can modify his whip with bullet tips, platinums and elemental stone, i think.
u 2 are awesome XD
If I recall correctly, Death bows to Dracula because Dracula isn't just a simple vampire but rather the equal and opposite to God, or whatever passes for God in the Castlevania universe. He likely bows his head because Dracula has conquered death itself so he has to respect it.
Trevor and Richter not on this list man?
By far they are the coolest Belmont
Kaz Killer nooooooooooooo Leon Belmont is more bad ass
I was so glad to know Soma was number 1
We appreciate you Quarter guy. No Simon or Trevor though really??? Good list I was surprised you put Drac at 5 I was like o now I need to keep watching.
Me and my dad love Castlevania so much, that he decided to name me Richter
Now your namesake is playable in Smash Ultimate
6:12 I can't. I'm no consistent Castlevania player.
Soma Cruz, the king of badassery \.__./
There is a light novel which includes him from a year after the events of DoS, though his appearance is brief.
Kwatcher100 I know :3 Read the fan translation.
Soma Cruz is the only one who could defeat Chaos.
I KNEW IT!!!!!!!!! AEON TAKES BRONZE MEDAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And you be right
Alucard from Castlevania is probably one of the most badass dhampirs in fiction
My three most favorite characters are Soma, Charlotte, and Cornell(Original).
