"I don't have to be anywhere at any certain time." That sounds amazing!
Lovely start to your video!! ❤❤❤ - Chica
Binging your 2023 hike... You are inspiring me... I just need to get there...
Trail Angels are the best❤
What a great day for being oh those balds!
Oh how I wish I was on that summit right now.. Just me and Nature's beauty... It just literally fills me with a feeling of intense purpose and calmness at the same time...
I'm glad you got the chance to stop and check out (and show us!) Siler Bald and the other overlooks on this day. These views are typically what recharges me on backpacking trips. Just being able to see the way the landscape folds and unfolds over miles and miles is really inspiring to me. To get peace and quiet and good weather are major bonuses.
Honey Stingers are sold at Walmarts, too. Found in the Soorting Goods Department, in the Fitness section.
Love your vids....never been back packing but I have always wanted to.....need to go !
What a lovely day. You took it slow but still got in a decent chunk of miles. Glad you got a not so cold night. I can do 40 overnight in my tent with my 20degree quilt. I wear my smart wool buff on my head and my hoodie so I’m good to go all night. You look like you are really enjoying yourself out there. Thanks for sharing your adventures
you are the best, somebody who likes thru hiking and a survivor fan, i have watched all your videos. plus have watched all survivor in the 20 years. amazing views today.
Siler & Wayah we’re both so beautiful, your campsite looked amazing. I love NOC ( as long as it’s not packed). Love standing on the bridge over the river and watching the water and kayaks do their thing. I hope that it was a blast! Stay well and be safe!
I love that you can slow down and enjoy your day without rushing. What a beautiful day😍 Thank so much for taking the time to show it to us so nicely!! Prayers for your continued health and safety 🥰🙏
Enjoying this day as you were smiling BIG TIME.
Views good, doesn't beat the white mountains though 😅
Epic❤! Amazing view showing your path between the two balds. Best view of AT I’ve seen on you tube
Welcome to gorgeous North Carolina 😍
You need days like this just to enjoy yourself. Stay well and be safe.
My first section hike on the AT was from Winding Stair Gap to Fontana Dam and my fav campsite was at Cold Spring Shelter. Thanks for the memories.
Wayah Bald is really beautiful. Been there many times. Glad you had a good day for the views. Keep charging!
Glad you are seeing more people on the 👣 trail🌻🌻
We enjoy your channel and have a great hike ❤
Wow! What a beautiful day you had! Nothing like a little inspiration for the soul to keep you positive !! Better temps coming soon ! ....Hang in there !!
🦋
The dark-eyed Junco birds love the cool of the mountains
Breath taking views, Taylor. A solo summit chill! You were so happy. 😊 It's a beautiful feeling for sure. ✌️
Love Siler Bald! One of my fav mountains in the south!
Alone time on beautiful mountain tops 🏔 I am envious.
Taylor, I like others love this area that you hiked today. We've been up there a few times and the views are awesome. Its good to see you slow down and really enjoy and take in all that beauty. Looked like a fantastic camp site. Thanks for the vlog!
Dont't click on this scam
You totally need to send an audition tape into Survivor!!!!
We watch every season
Looked like a good day☺️
What a beautiful day!
We are in 70s, yesterday, Maggie Valley. Hope you have great weather today!!
What a beautiful sky at Siler Bald.
2:02 I had to rewind to make sure I saw this right 😂
Hey Taylor! What a day! Summits with friends are great, but being alone on a peak just hits different. That section of trail is just breathtaking. Huge thanks to the angels for the magic, you are amazing! Do you have a pump for the pad? I love the one I grabbed. Such a luxury but IMHO soooo worth it. I hope then campsite stayed as peaceful as it seemed. 🙏 Thanks for bringing us along today. I hope tomorrow’s miles are kind. Keep truckin’ and be well.
-Grateful
Beautiful mountains. 👍🏻🚶♀️🙂
Loved seeing those blue skies in the beginning! Happy trekking!
Beautiful views, looked like a great day of hiking!
It’s good seeing you taking it slow and seeing the views. Happy Hiking 🏕🥾💞
Beautiful day. It’s perfect days like this that really inspire. Enjoy your hiking and may you have many more sunny days like this one.
Beautifull views and nice weather. You are taking your time and enjoying your hike. Stay Safe and HIKE ON!!!!
Just love watching you on your second AT thru hike. Your necklace brought back memories of when i was in Hawaii, I found mine and put it on.
A beautiful day to hike. You have an amazing smile. Oh, no cold days ahead. Keep trekking. 😀
I like seeing camp set up!
Yes! That campsite is the best known secret spot! 🤣👏🏻🤩
Not anymore! Ha!
Good video with lots of great beautiful views, so let's keep on hiking..😊
Can't stop watching your current series! Hoping for a safe hike through the rest of your way!
Beautiful views! Glad you had a nice sunny day to take them in.
Hi Taylor. Watching your hike this year as I did 2 years ago. You are really getting good at this thru hiking thing. Just seems effortless and I know its not. Wishing you the best, but you're a pro, so no worries. Just wondering about your air mattress air pump. I noticed it is not listed in your gear list. Looking forward to watching you through the finish. I think staying off trail as much as you do is very smart.!!! You're making all kinds of friends and acquaintances. Awesome. So cool.
Taylor’s Phrase of Day “Legit phone charges .. not those Amazon ones” lol
Followed you first trip, enjoy be well
Outstanding!
Love watching your progress. Great videos.
I found your channel last week and i have been enjoying your updates. Keep up the miles, stay safe and have fun.
Awesome beautiful vlogging, hiking and scenery, all the very best.
Beautiful views 🤩
When I got to Wayah Bald in 2018 they were literally finishing the rebuild from the fire and I was the first person allowed to climb it
Thank you for uploading so much content of your thru hike. Amazing!

Imagine our complete surprise when you broke out the Twix bar on Siler bald :)
That seems like the perfect day on trail with a perfect campsite plus survivor!!! Does it get any better?🎉
역시 전설적인 등산 산행이네요. 최고
We were having a hard time streaming Survivor on Wednesday (we ended up having to wait until yesterday, Thursday, to watch) - I said to my husband yesterday, "Taylor can watch this on the Appalachian Trail and we can't get it here in our house?!" *throws arms up* Here you are mentioning it again, you don't have to brag about your Survivor watching abilities Taylor! 😂 Beautiful views today - happy trails!
Love this! That was my son and his girlfriend cooking up the hot dogs.
Aw nice!!
Must be hard to get in your tent that early but I know there isn't much else to do. :)
Darkness generally introduces it
@@RickINFJ Mine? I think a lot of if not all people’s does.
@@RickINFJ Grammatically it can mean both, so I’ll have to take issue with it.
@@RickINFJ Hmm, indications of not willing to stand up for one’s posts. A deserter.
😊
Hi Taylor, happy for you this was a beautiful day for hiking,, I was just noticing you don't have a InRich Mini on your pack, don't need?
Thanks for bringing all of us along .
Trail Flea
Ha! I was wondering how long it was going to take someone to alter that new sign at Swinging Lick Gap.
👍👍👍❤️
Siyo 👋 Waya means wolf in Cherokee. Ugodidi adadoligv (many blessings) 🙏
Hi Taylor. Kevin from Nashua, NH. I am curious, why don’t you start hiking a month later than you did? The weather would possibly be warmer and potentially less wet.
I'm trying to get back to work in July so I went with the earliest date I could working around my work schedule
Taylor I’m sure you hear it all ghe time, “ I love your videos or blogs or whatever. I’m 57 cancer survivor(whistling passed the graveyard). Lol. Ask your parents what that means. I’ve done everything in my life that was important to everyone else. I’m a gypsy at heart though. I’m going to the AT and if I don’t make it through so what? We all gotta die somewhere. Your videos inspire me. I get the technical info. I crave. See you in 2024. I’ll be on that trail pre bubble. I’m pretty rugged and I will always opt for the jump on everyone. I’ll be there early, latest Feb1. Thank you for the information and all you do.
Omg who comes up with the bald names….. lmao😂😂😂. Happy trails.🤘🏻🥾⛰️
How much of your daily footage winds up on the proverbial floor?
If you are a slower hiker and don't get many miles a day can you camp outside of the lean to or the shelters in the designated shelter only areas? Or do you just have to hike away till you make it to the next one?
Generally no, you don't have to camp at the shelters. Except in the Smokey Mountains. Normally shelters have a water source near, a privy and other hikers for company so they do have their perks. The shelters are also normally spaced so you can get to one every night if you can't/don't want to do 20 plus mile days. She's hiking past some shelters to make bigger mile days.
Hi Taylor! Good luck with this years AT trek! I love your videos. I know I will never get a chance to do it so I'm able to live the AT through you so Thank You! I love your state recap videos too! Also, sleep where you want to sleep. It's your trip. There is plenty of tent nights so if you can sleep in a hostel then do it. : ) Besides, I love seeing the hostels as well! Question, is there an app or book that the hikers use so you know how far away the next town is for resupplying or for the hostels. I heard another TH-camr say "Far Out" which I think is an app? Curious, how everyone knows where everything is at. Also, what GPS device are you using or recommend? Thanks Taylor! Enjoy this great adventure!
Can you recommend good hiking podcasts?
How has the unbound 40 been for you?
What podcasts do you listen to on trail?
How did the bald become bald? Logging operations?
What camera do you use to do your videos? How do you keep them charged all day? Love your adventure!,
I so badly want to comment on "Survivor" but I don't know how far you've watched, so I don't want to give anything away!
Does covering familiar ground make it hard to experience something new?
Not particularly, a lot of it is just the high from being outside and the endorphins related to getting sunshine and the fitness level which approaches elitism.
Are you hiking alone? I am not sure I could hike AT solo. Great views!
I have to wonder if Taylor was a guy would every other commenter be telling her to stay safe? It just seems a little condescending but maybe I'm misinterpreting
I carry mace when I’m solo, and it’s not because I’m concerned about animals. I think it’s prudent.
Thought you were all about killing it and not the views. :)
