AMEX, Air Canada, Virgin Atlantic, American Airlines and Flying Blue are my favorites. For hotels I prefer Hilton but I rather have 100k Hyatt points than 100k Hilton points. Great video JP🫵
You made a very strong argument for why Bilt has the highest value of any transferrable currency. They were the only program that could transfer to all 4 of American, Air Canada, Virgin, and Hyatt. While American is no longer a partner, Alaska is a very strong alternative for Oneworld nobody else has. Chase has 3 out of 4, placing it as a strong #2. Amex and Capital One are about tied. Amex has the most number of TPs, but Capital One has all the valuable ones from Amex. Both lose some points without an easy way to get good value on domestic economy travel. Citi comes next. Really hurts to not have Aeroplan or British/Iberia Avios. Wells is obviously last at this moment since they only have 1 partner from each alliance and Choice.
Great informative video JP! I agree with you, for me at least, UR program is the most valuable. Especially for a newbie like me. How long did it take you before you were proficient in planning and booking trips through travel partners? Do you ever favor booking through a portal?
Although I'm not someone who uses the travel portal, I don't think it is a bad way of redeeming your points. Sometimes, it is the best deal. It takes time to learn how to use partners. I recommend doing dummy searches and seeing if you can find awards flights that you may be interested in taking in the future.
Well the business class with virgin Atlantic with KLM only 8k points and 70€ for a ticket goes for 1100€, so yea I agree and the economy for 4K points!
Hey JP great video question Amx point are they used for flights and Chase points are used for hotels? I have seen a trend what is your take on this? Keep that great content coming.
Amex points are best for flights unless you see a really big transfer bonus to Hilton. Chase is the only major bank that partners with Hyatt, so it makes sense to use your Chase points with them for hotel stays.
Great video JP, do you have any videos on how to book awards across airlines within a particular alliance. Something I'm clueless about after being in the game a long while...
Great tips JP! ANA has some great deals, especially to Africa, but their website is garbage. However, I have had no problems with getting points returned after cancelling - for a small fee😎
JP, I'd love to see a video on Virgin Atlantic... I did a speculative transfer on a bonus when I was starting the game thinking I would book ANA or Delta 1... now 3 years later I've booked with Aeroplan, Turkish, Avios, Alaska, Avianca yet I still have 110k Virgin miles....
Chase points are a lot easier for beginners to redeem for good value than Amex. Amex has many options to redeem their points, and the ones that people use the most give either bad or terrible value, but people redeem them this way because they dont realize that there are better options.
No, you would have to get one of the Sapphire cards to transfer to partners. Qatar isn't a direct partner of Chase, but British Airways is, and you can transfer from your British Airways account to your Qatar account after you link the two accounts
Alaska + American + Air Canada. Thanks for the info + video!
Thanks for watching!

Amex just keeps giving me points 😂 Although I don't list them above Chase, they probably have given me more value than Chase
AA is my favorite currently. Ton of value in their program
AA is 👑
This is a very helpful video
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Great video!
Thank you!

There are different sweetspots for each of them. Some have more than others, and that is why I like to diversify

I really like Virgin Atlantic. They stay competitive even after a devaluation.

ANA does have some solid deals. I'll have to look more into those deals to Africa 🧐 ✍️📖 🌍

I'll look into making a more updated video on Virgin Atlantic's program. I have a video that shows how to book ANA using Virgin miles.
Hyatt definitely has better redemption value but number of properties they have is really low.
It is 😕 but they are growing every year!
Why is amex not as good to redeem oppose to chase?

I have a Chase Freedom card with almost 500,000 points. Is that easy to transfer to an international airline like Qatar?
