I’m British and i was travelling with a Belgian and some Chinese friends, and we also had the same hotel problem in this exact city, no foreigners, luckily we were able to stay in our friends home.
I’ve been travelling around China for nearly twenty years, this is the only time there was a problem with a hotel.
Hello there! Thanks for watching our video & for sharing your experience with us! We've recently read news that hotels in China have been warned by the government to always allow foreigners to book & stay in local hotels. That'll make traveling in China easier for us! 😊

In this episode of 3 mini quick tours, join her as she explores the toilet facilities at Beijing station platform, on train, and within 山海关.
@17:22 is the easternmost point of the Great Wall ! While planning for the trip, I knew we needed to visit this point and touch that brick. Glad we did.
Overall, the two sights are fairly easy to get to comfortably (a 3hr train ride away). Most folks will probably book a day trip out from Beijing, but staying overnight gave us that extra time to wander and explore around.

Hey there, Gordon! Great to hear from you too 😀. Your impressions of China stays pretty accurate based on our most recent experiences in Beijing haha. It's worse on public transport & tourist sites. The blatant spitting on floor gets to me most 🙃.
Hello there Gordon, thanks for always stopping by our vlogs with a thoughtful comment. We had similar experiences this round, but maybe it is just a cultural behaviour and part of the travel journey. There seems to be an overall improvement compared to when we last visited, but the spitting (esp post Covid) is something we still struggle to get around 🤷♂

how much time did you spend at each attraction? (天下第一关，老龙头，etc)
@lucastan6790 hello there, thanks for watching our vlog. For our itinerary, we spent about half a day each sight at a fairly leisurely pace. Some people do this route as a day trip, and took the evening train back to Beijing, but we didn't want to rush so we book and stayed one night near 老龙头.
Hello!! @lucastan6790 Thanks, Mr. P, for helping to reply! 😄For TWO wall sections (Mutianyu and Jinshanling), we spent about half a day just exploring leisurely (and filming of course) before taking the bus back to Beijing city. We stayed the night near Laolongtou wall section, since it was further from Beijing city and we had to take the high speed rail to get there and back. This gave us more time to explore the area, but most shops near and inside the attraction close VERY early...around 6 - 7pm!
