      @@TheMacMaster Lee, I was on an easyJet flight to Madeira from Bristol in May, and the guy next to me didn't have a card, just pounds and euros. He was gobsmacked when he discovered they wouldn't relent over his drinks order, so I sorted it by using my card. It's bad form and I agree with you on this.

    Ohh, I went to the Southwall Fish Bar in October 2015, and they were quite nice! I sneaked them onto the Nottingham bus, as I hadn't finished them when it arrived! As we left the town, we picked up a load of kids from a local college, one of whom sniffed and said to her mate;
    "Can you smell chips?"
    That chicken & mushroom pie looked as though it had been totally blitzed in the microwave, though!
    I remember a Pukka pie ad in my local chippy some years back, featuring a guy in a tux and bow tie, alongside a woman in a very low cut (I couldn't help but notice!) velvet dress, sitting rather close together in a very swish looking car (think it was a jag but that's more your department!) sophisticatedly tucking into....pie & chips from the chippy!
    Now, I find that a scoop of chocolate, along with a scoop of coffee ice cream makes a great combo! Not that I could eat it the way Ange did!

    Really great to see you both, Angie and Lee. I mean, what is the point of having food outlets or restaurants if they don't cook the food at the correct temperature? Everyone is trying to save energy but not like this. It seems to me that they were probably touting the tourist trade and only looking for customers who would never go back there. It's really poor. Food is one of the great joys, isn't it? It brings people together. What you had there certainly was not food. Better luck next time but that shouldn't be the case, especially when money is scarce for lots of people. Even so, it was good to see you both in lovely surroundings. Thank you!

    I was born and bred in Southwell, nice to hear you pronouncing it the correct local way and not the outsiders way of “suth’ll”! Chippy used to be owned by Tim and they were fairly decent, but I haven’t been in there for years. The Mughal Rasoi used to be my favourite place to eat there.
    Jolly Fryer in Kirkby is where I’d rather go to nowadays for a chippy.

    Great vlog . I do agree with you to a certain extent about only cash policy . But some do it so it saves them on cost as they have to pay service charge for card payments. So they try and save there . Which some say it keeps cost down for the customer. How true that is I'm not sure . I very rare carry cash myself use card so can be annoying

    Southwell is a very interesting place. Beautiful architecture set in a beautiful part of England. It also has a Horseracing track which is one of the UK 's busiest racetracks in terms of the number of days per year that it holds racemeetings. The racetrack is well worth a visit, mainly holds winter meetings with it.s state of the art All Weather racing surface. It offers race goers great facilities & due to the time of year it holds meetings, is never over busy. I can highly recommend a winters afternoon at the track for some great horseracing then back to the town for a few more pints after, but maybe not for the Fish & Chips from that shop!.

    Coming to a dodgy time of year for fish and chips.
    Usual chipping potatoes become hard to get, and they start trying to chip new potatoes.
    Absolutely revolting.
    Here in Malta they use frozen chips when decent potatoes can't be got .
    Fish and chips to me live and die on the quality of the chips.

    Awe Coffee Butter Cream Lee !! 😋😋👍👍 My Dad used to absolutely Love my Coffee Cream Cakes that I used to make at the Start of my Anorexia ( before I was diagnosed at 15 years old ) as obviously I wouldn't eat any that I made so my parents had to put a stop to me cooking all the time as I was making them put weight on as I was Losing Loads Sadly .
    The Sad thing is that people who suffer from Anorexia are Extremely Good Cooks and won't eat any of what they have made for others as it's like eating gorgeous foods when we see them out in Iceland / M&S etc as we see these products through our eyes , I hope that makes sense to you Lee Xx

    Old season potatoes cooked with low temperature oil. And talking of the seventies do you remember when pukka pies were served from a mini oven? Delicious:-)
