Small bit about the rap battle with Ton, I got the implication later in S1 that he still remembered, and just was trying to not have Retsuko stress over it. I think it was when he first started respecting her, and so he didn’t want her stressing out about it.

@@TheLoadingCrew oh definitely. I’d argue best written character of the series. Even above Washimi. After all, while we saw in season 4 how much he cares about the whole of the accounting department, after the rap battle he seems to take a personal interest in helping Retsuko learn and grow into the best version of herself. Especially by giving her advice about her positions within her relationships.
More what he said before that, he admits to realizing that aggretsko is who he was when he was a kid. She's responsible enough for management by merit, but not connected or able to play the game of office politics enough for the cushy jobs. He knows who gets his chair when he leaves it.
And it's weird to him.
Being honest this entire show felt like a fever dream but the premise was strong enough to carry it easily.
Kinda like Garak carrying Deep Space Nine wink wink
deep space nine and voyager were the only star trek I remember liking most consistently...i'll think about it

Binged the whole fourth season after work last night. Totally didn’t mess up my sleep schedule at all (/s). Definitely worth it in prep for this vid.
it was an interesting season
I think there is one other character in this series worthy of this analysis. Ton. He appears initially to be just a classic bad boss, but he shows surprising depth as the series goes on. He ends up being one of the most fleshed out secondary characters in the show.
In a way Ton kind of reminds me of Benson from Regular Show.
I wanted to watch the whole of this video so much that once it got to the section for season 4 I stopped the video and binged the entire season so I could enjoy your commentary.
I definitely agree that the corporate espionage part felt weird and the finale confused me as well.
Keep up the youtube grind. you will definitely get to that 1million subscriber mark I know it

You know, that opening made me realize. I want an alignment episode that all the characters in SpongeBob. Lets get to it.
Just came back to this video after watching season 4 and... yeah Aggretsuko has already been a prime example of the phrase "the status quo is god", but man it's more clear than ever.
That being said if you ever revisit this series, I think a video on Ton could be interesting, especially since he got so much focus in season 4, to the point that I'd say he's much closer to being the main character of the season than Retsuko or Haida.

Honestly I /really/ enjoyed season 4... until that ending. Cause man, it just felt like it was too easy of a return to status quo and super unsatisfying.
And I'll be that girl.. I don't think Retsuko should have kept dating Haida after what happened. Or at least, not get back together so quickly. What happened should have put a SERIOUS wedge between the two, with them being secretive and not up front to each other. Like, not just on Haida for cooking the books, but Retsuko never said anything about her seeing Tanado even when Haida gave her the opportunity to say so when she first confronted him.
As the audience, we know it wasn't anything scandalous. But to Haida, he was being lied to and given nothing.

I remember when season 3 ended, everyone hated the smack down Haida gave to Rets. But after the emotional highs were down, the scene was reevaluated and seen as the right thing to do.

PS: I noticed you are uploading a lot more than usual. Please, if this is a strain on your normal life, give yourself a break. Retsuko herself learned to give herself some self-care, and I hope you know how to do that too. We love both YOU and your content. Both of these things will suffer if you work too hard.

I fell off Aggrettsko but the corporate espionage thing might have just been a long “how, the f***, did I get here” moment. The kind you get when you’re doing something insane and you have a sudden moment of clarity

Now that the series is over I'd love to see more alignment videos of some of the other characters like Hida and Ton
it was an average season for the most part, it was pretty lackluster in some areas. but still pretty good.
Idea: what D&D alignment are Sam and Max from the Sam and Max series, you could rate these two individually or rate the overall morality of them together as the freelance police.

I was tempted to Bing season 4, but I want to make it last as long as possible.
I already watched 3 episodes in a row.
The fourth season (to me) just show how much Retsuko grew as a person. Where she’s was there for Haida, help Toum get back into the spirit of his work, and use the popularity of being a pop idol to create a second job for her.
Its weird but I honestly loving where the show is going. It just mean, the series is more then just Retsuko :)

Man, season 4 gets real in places. I had to remind myself that this show wouldn't have a suicide in it. And then it ends the way it did. Talk about a roller coaster. But I liked the ending.

NGL, I dropped Aggretsuko after the second season, mainly because of two things
1. Anai - the fact that he never really faced consequences for how he treated everyone and we just move on as if he hadn't been like that just rubbed me the wrong way
2. Aggretsuko's Lovelife - Aside from the conversation with Ton, her love life in season 1 was the weakest part of that season, for me. And with how much of season 2 was focused on her love life, in particular with following how draining Anai was, it was just too much for me to bother with the series.
Considering how it seems the shark jumped in season 3, I guess I left at the right time.
season 3 was the best part of the show actually

Loved the season but cant but feel that next season will involve crime fighting while retsuko tries to live a normal life.....and im totally on board.

Honestly, season 4 felt really... not bad, but not good either, it was a real let-down in my opinion especially with how they basically went full character assassination on Haida and then had Retsuko Rose Tico his attempt at redeeming himself.
Idk I really liked the whole situation with Haida and tax fraud, and how BAD it could have been.

Still, the way Retsuko gained so many subscribers may be unrealistic but it's hardly the only case of such a thing in media.
Even western tv shows have similar scenes.
