  • 90026 arrives at Carstairs having travelled up on the East Coast Main Line having been split at Edinburgh Waverley from the Edinburgh portion.

    @mattdandex You cant really tell from that angle but there is adverse camber on the line there.

    @kenwyne67 The train leaves from London with Glasgow and Edinburgh as destinations. Normally the train splits at Carstairs and the front half heads for Glasgow and the rear is taken to Edinburgh by a waiting loco. The Inverness/Aberdeen/Fort William portions usually go to Edinburgh and are divided up there. Probably is a pain but its the best way to do it.

    The reason the fort William ends go to Edinburgh is if it went frm here it would have to join the Clyde north line and go under glasgow city centre. But instead it comes onto the Clyde north line at hyndland
