  • The police probe into alleged corruption in the European Parliament continues to grow, with suspicions that Qatar and Morocco have sought to influence EU democracy.
    Investigators have uncovered over €1.5 million in cash and charged four people in Belgium, including high-ranking Member of the European Parliament Eva Kaili. There have been further arrests in Italy.
    Here, POLITICO maps how the key people caught up in the investigation are connected.

    Josep Borell: "But Qatar has also made significant progress on labour rights over the past years.
    It was the first country in the Gulf to dismantle the discriminatory “kefala system”, which kept Qatar’s large migrant worker population at the mercy of their employers, and Qatar has adopted a new law establishing a non-discriminatory minimum wage.
    In addition, they have ensured a stricter oversight of World Cup infrastructure projects, and in many projects, Qatar is a front-runner in this sense.
    What is important to notice is that the organisation of the World Cup and the fact that it has made existing deficiencies become more evident have, in fact, accelerated labour reform in Qatar. "

      BS! Total barbarity - $200 Billion for the World Cup but they won't even pay meager amounts to the wives, children of men who lost their lives making WC2022. Maybe, marginal better but Belsen was marginal better than Auschwitz!

      Borrell along with Mogherini are politically in the pocket of Qatar, Iran and Islam. There are plenty of quotes by both showing that they don't care about democracy, human rights etc but are the usual apologists for Islam. Mogherini's former adviser Nathalie Tocci is also one to watch, as she likes to protect the mullahs, also has a think tank in Rome and has close connections to Muslims.
      But that is the EU left in a nutshell. They pay lip service to those threatened by Islam and then sell them down the river. This is all normalised by a regressive left academia in the West who invented DEI, Islamophobia and other vehicles with which Qatar etc are normalised.

      @@mjw12345 I did not say the statement is true. I don't believe it is true. But the point is there are high ranking EU officials who 'believed' it was true, like e.g. Josep Borell.

      @@apo.7898 Understand! EP VP Eva Kaili just last week made similar laudatory comments in the EP. You are likely aware in the past 72hr Belgian law enforcement have recovered €1.5 million in cash from her residence and associates - believed to be Qatari bribes. Gianni Infantino has made near identical pro-Qatari statements - FIFA seems a downright criminal syndicate but that's not news. Kaili is now in detention, hope next Infantino!

    • @apo.7898
      @apo.7898 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dirkbogarde7796 Kaili wasn't really a left-winger but more like a centrist of some short with some moderately nationalist/populist positions on certain issues. Most of those involved on this scandal are S&D related, certainly but there could have been other channels. S&D votes are not enough.
