"Selfless Rock". Well, this aged like milk.
You beat me to it.
You can tell that video was made before the bombshell
Wwe fans are so sensitive.
What has he done otherwise? I love people with these opinions
@@eLite-Tiss91 you don’t know if he’s gonna do the job for Roman
I presume this video was made before Smackdown on Friday. Oh Dear. That selfless Rock line.
“The toys in Vince McMahon’s toy box.”😂
I mean they are....
That phrase has a whole new meaning now 😭
They must've made this before last week.
Jeff Hardy vs Undertaker on Raw for the WWE Championship was another one.
Taker made Jeff look like a million bucks in that ladder match, despite going over.
Oh that’s one of my favorite!!
"selfless like the rock" has aged really well hasnt it.
I know everybody's saying this and it's clear this was written/recorded before Smackdown, but 8:54 talking about The Rock being selfless, really IS kind of funny with retrospective.
Yeah 😂😅
The Rock’s put over countless people
@@Jose-dk4re Oh yeah, he definitely has for sure. It's just a matter of timing in this.
@@Jose-dk4re the rock hasn't put anyone over since 2014 when he saved Roman if we're being honest the last few times he's came back he's hurt talent more than he helped
@@Jose-dk4reThe number of people that Rock's put over recently can absolutely be counted, and you can stop at one, because the list begins and ends with putting over himself.
I love how the rocks selflessness cost us an actually good mania main event
The Rock’s famous selflessness 😂
You just watched a video where they showed that Rock was generous in the ring. Sorry that bothers you.
@@stereotypea123 sorry that clearly bothered you very very much too. Which we will know you will keep denying and replying to this from this point on that it isnt.
@@GalactivaPhantom Rewriting history bothers me, yeah. I can admit that though.
@@stereotypea123he was selfless, but not anymore. Not since 2010
@@Muhammadwasapedo in your opinion and not based on anything rock or Cody actually said, just anonymous “sources”. 👌 sounds legit.
"The Rock's famous selflessness."
Lololololololololololololololol
Came here for this comment. Cody Rhodes would beg to differ.
Wow Cody and Roman has had no build up they are on different shows I’m looking forward to Cody vs Seth because Seth sucks has champ.
2:40
HHH was Intercontinental Champion as Hunter Hearst Helmsley in 1995 or 96 I think.
Yes end of 1996 to early 97 where he lost the title to the rock lol
If Shelton Benjamin had mic skills… He would’ve been the wwe champion for a decade… Low key, one of the best wrestlers of all time
For me, I would have to say Razor Ramon vs 1-2-3 Kid on Monday Night RAW in 1993.
“The toys in Vince McMahon’s toy box are superstars.”
Well they sure are named after them. 🤣
What a weird fetish he has. 😂
😂😂😂
Randy Orton's match was a no-brainer. The match against Cactus Jack shot him to the stratosphere. Although his character definitely evolved (no pun intended) since then, it remains one of his best matches, even all these years later.
Orton vs Foley is the first that comes to mind. Taker vs Hardy too
Jeff Hardy vs Undertaker should be on this list
Crazy every OVW 2002 class had a win over triple h.
Stone Cold vs. Bret at Survivor Series ‘96 was good but I think it was their match at WrestleMania 13 that made Stone Cold into a main eventer.
Came here to say this. I 100% agree
The rock vs triple h was actually the fourth televised ladder match in company history. Bret vs shawn, shawn vs razor twice and then trips and the rock
Good stuff. I would have had the Gauntlet Match that launched Kofi-mania, before Elimination Chamber. I stood up and applauded in my home, when AJ eliminated him, much like the entire arena did.
You could probably make a full list like this with only stars made by Mick Foley.
triple H's first ic title was when he beat marc mero, he later lost it to the rock for the rocks first ic title win
selfless Rock is just funny now.
Nowhere near as funny as you drama queens who act victimised any time something you didn't take into your fantasy booking portfolio happens...
Shelton Benjamin....the greatest what if of WWE history....not even being buddies with a great white like Lesnar could save his wwe career
Shelton got as far as he was going to go. He was bland and couldn’t cut a promo
It's wild to think Rock/HHH was the THIRD ladder match WWE aired. Even before the Attitude Era, this is such a simple/easy gimmick for a match, you'd've thought there'd have been dozens by then.
They used to space out these things more, the rarer the more special.
Shame Shelton has never held a world title yet.
0:07 we don’t wanna talk about the tours in Vince McMahon box
A shame things never went anywhere but the midcard for Shelton, because he was coming in hot with that win over HHH.
Also, and it is certainly likely that this can be contributed to who she was working with there, it will forever fascinate me that Ronda Rousey’s best wrestling match was her first one. Just a complete understanding of how to present her as a terminator with one focus and scaring the opposition. Also, Stephanie McMahon is the Ric Flair of matches with lightly trained female wrestlers with this match and her match against Trish when both were super green.
You don’t want to know what Vince does with those toys and he names them 😂
This is something a lot of people not familiar with the industry cannot understand. For most sports fans, winning is everything and if you lose too often you're simply no good. In wrestling, you can prove yourself to be at the top of the game by losing, to the point it has become a tradition that when a top wrestler retires, it is expected their last match be a losing effort to make an up and coming wrestler look great.
The Shield vs Team Hell No & Ryback was my favorite match of 2012 and I'm glad to see it represented here!
5:12
It's easy to remember SCSA as the reason that "Walk and Brawl" became a defining theme for the attitude era.
If you only know Austin for his beer drinking and brawling, I implore you to go back and watch his work in from 1996 (after the ringmaster gimmick) until his neck injury. He was a fantastic operator in the ring. Probably best demonstrated by his match with Bret at Mania 13.
I'd put John Cena vs Kurt Angle: No Way Out 2005 on here as well. Angle was already one of the greatest of all time at the time but Cena beating Angle in a great match was what landed him his first WWE Championship at 'mania out of several.
HOW long ago was this recorded?
I'm going to guess after the Vince lawsuit came out because it's a top 10 list type video and not one of their long form docs.
Selfless Rock and the vince toys comment. Aged well haha.
That Rock/HHH ladder match is one of my favorite matches of all time and top three Rock matches for me along with Fully Loaded 2000 against a certain wolverine and vs Austin at 17. I also wish they did the yellow ladders more often cause they looked cool.
Respect lads
Been watching years seen the growth is great to see.
I honestly I think the match that made Jeff Hardy a superstar was the match against the undertaker
Good real life Vince McMahon reference
that shelton benjamin match was soooo dopeeee! and if i remember it right they wrestled at least one or two more times in the next few weeks
This countdown does work for me, as the #1 pick, based on Roman's, Seth's and Jon's (fka Dean's) standings in the business at large as being at the top of the heap in one way or another, makes perfect sense.
I hate to be "this commenter" but Hunter won his first IC title from Marc Maro on an October 96 episode of Raw.
That TLC match is my favorite. I've watched it so many times.
"Selfless Rock" Yeah wish he stayed that way
I admire your ability to mention Randy Orton and not do the Randal Keith song
Vinces "toy box" haha. Aged like a fine cheese.
Thanks for happy wrestling memories... at a time I never want to watch wrestling again.
don't need the list to know Brock vs Rock, Cena vs Angle (or Cena vs Big Show) and Hardy vs Undertaker are the matches that come to mind when I think of star making matches that put those 3 on the map.
I know The Shield members already featured but I always think back to Seth Rollins at the 2015 Royale Rumble. He elevated himself to be worthy of the title with that effort, looking like he belonged alongside Cena & Lesnar.
3:09 I was today years old...😂
Life works in funny ways sometimes 😂 oh Dwayne Johnson what are we gonna do with you!
You're just gonna sit watching no matter what they do but continue to act like you're above it 😂
8:54 You can tell this was recorded at least a week ago.
The toys in Vince's toybox were NOT just WWE Superstars
8:55 should probably delete that
They mentioned Vince this video must have been filmed weeks ago 😂
8:57 this did NOT age well
And the opposite will happen to Rocky at WM40
I agree with a lot of the sentiment here that Jeff Hardy vs Undertaker should be on this list instead of Brock v Rock. Timing issues aside otherwise its a great list.
Nice list.
The Rock is no longer selfless 😂😅
The toys in vince mcmahons toy box are at the very least named after wwe superstars.
Vinces special toys are named after WWE superstars
Thanks 🎉
Bret Hart v 1-2-3 Kid should be on this list
Good video
Mick Foley's masterpieces of getting fucked up to put somebody over
1998 vs The Undertaker @ King of The Ring (Hell in a Cell)
1999 vs The Rock @ Royal Rumble (I Quit)
2000 vs Triple H @ Royal Rumble (Street Fight)
2004 vs Randy Orton @ Backlash (Street Fight)
2006 vs Edge @ WrestleMania (Street Fight)
the video already aged like milk
Ohhhh man!! Grab my popcorn!!
The ladder match at summerslam 98 was not Triple H's first IC title.
I'm not sure what I believe the rock is known to be very selfless doesn't mean it can't be selfish and doesn't excuse when he is. However, I'm not sure what the real motive for the match now.
😅Jeff Hardy vs Undertaker in THAT ladder match. Cmon Adam
Shelton Benjamin... WWE really dropped the ball with him. Literally one of the best wrestlers ever. Not great on the mic, but he didn't need to be. Have him be a man of few words and just let his actions do the talking for him.
Shelton Benjamin 🔥
Thank For the Top 10 🙊🤯🥰😍😁💗💐🌟🥇🏆
Well this shows this was made WAY before they knew rock would main event mania.
Selfless rock and vince McMahon toy box aged like milk
The Rock always putting over the younger talent how selfless is 🙂
Terri Invitational Tournament... Yet another brilliant idea brought to you by "💩stain" Vince Russo.
I would argue Benjamin's star match was vs. HBK.
Triple H, who put over everyone and their granny during his "reign of terror", but is remembered as the guy who didn't ever put anyone over 😆
Did they have one of the Simpsons writers write that opening ‘toybox’ line?
Jeff Hardy v Undertaker raw ladder match should have been number 1
Haven't watched the video but Royal rumble 2020 should be here for drew McIntyre
Edit: nope. Dang it Adam.
Commenting
Man I actually enjoyed the short time James was on the roster.
Yeah, he was a jobber, but he was quite loveable even as a heel (IMO)
😮That ladder match wasn't triple H first I.C. title run
People making fun of the "selfless rock" statement, this shit was years ago no need to flood the comments unnecessarily. There are other things to talk about in the video as well
IMO
Diesel’s 1994 Rumble performance >>>> Roman’s 2014 Rumble performance
Though I still think Roman is the better wrestler overall
La knight vs the miz
Might wana cut that bit about vinces toys
'In the history of WWE, I struggle to think of a headliner as selfless as the Rock'
This video wasn't even out and it already aged terribly 😂
Taker vs Jeff Hardy?
They did all of that for Ronda who just can't act, can't wrestle, can't give good promos.. she's only good in taking that humbling kick from Holly Holm 😝
We want Cody
8:56 holy shit that aged poorly right away
Mmm yes the comment on the rock aged like fine milk
as selfless as the Rock sjshdjsjsh 8:55
LA Knight at Crown Jewel 2023 and Royal Rumble 2024.
Grayson Waller Edge in 2023
Maybe yous should update Paywall content before it goes public?! Multiple parts of this are problematic as of release. 🤦♂️
