Tommy's been felling trees professionally for 25 yrs. He's double anchored (to the tree & to the ditch witch) and he knows what he's doing, as the vid depicts his proficiently felling a *massive 200' white oak, whose side branches are the size of two medium trees* ~ All the best & God bless ~ Patrick

That's NOT what double anchored means. He was only tied in once the for MOST of the video, and that was honestly the laziest most complacent unsafe shit I've seen in my life and I've been an arborist for only 7 years NOT 25. No helmet, no proper climbing system, cutting while only tied in with a rope, if you hired this guy thank God you didn't also have to hire the fire dept to bring his cold dead body down.

@@mturner221 Thank you so much for your valued input ~ he's double anchored, and thank the good Lord you don't have to work for him because the world needs more internet correction officers like yourself 😂

23 years I have been climbing I to once would take my flip line lose and free climb then you figure out your life is worth something more than just the job I climbed for years without a hard hat to. then when you get knocked out in a tree you figure out that your life is worth more than the job . then the stomping your hooks into the tree he put more stress on his body than climbing without using the skidsteer they are a tool just like a saw that needs to be maintained and kept sharp a lot easier on your body 25 years and trying to make it easier on his self but not taking the right steps to prolonged his career and get home to his family safe

@SwiftRead lmao I'm a general manager for a national tree service man I think I know what double anchored is. My job is literally to send guys like him home because they're a liability. Done it 3 times so far this year actually. Climbers like him are very common but it's not what the industry best practices are. And also every one of my guys is faster, safer, and will be able to do the job even longer than him who's broken and barely able to move throughout the tree after 25 years. But you know better!

@@mturner221 7 years makes you a general manager? LOL You're right Marcus ~ I do know better & those trees are left broken on the ground, not the 25 year professional arborist. Enjoy your internet corrections career :P

Hi guys! This is the first time I've seen this technique of dragging a person up a tree using a loader. In case the rope breaks for some reason, always have a rope around the tree. I've seen a lot of things in my almost 8 years in this business. There will be another insurance +

the rope breaking during the ditch witch ascent is not what the concern should be here. It should be the strength of the top that you are pulling him up from. "Assuming" there isn't a block set up on the stem, and that you are going over some union, all i can say is, be careful.

Always good to carry 2 lanyards, that way he can exchange them while he’s walking up by limbs. Scary to see someone fall from that high because they accidentally weren’t clipped in properly. But great job excellent work!
