  • The Interludes, today's (1971’s) most unique dance band, consists of harmonicas and drums.
Not only is the harmonica one of the most versatile of musical
instruments, but with the various voicings, can be used alone to form an entire ensemble.
Most other instruments depend upon other types of
instruments for support. The Interludes do use drums for dancing and with this combination, leaves nothing to be desired.
Richard Harris plays the melody instrument in the group, a four octave chromatic harmonica.
Bill Wesley plays harmonetta, a push button
harmonica that is capable of producing single tones or complex chords.
The chord rhythm accompaniment harmonicas are the largest to be found
and are played by Gene Hansen and Leroy Warnock. These harmonicas are two feet in length and each chord contains eight reeds.
    Larry Van
plays bass harmonica, an all blow double reed instrument.
The bass harmonica sounds as deep as the string bass. Drums add the final touch,
completing the sound of The Interludes. Greg Specht handles this department.
