    The two Bungalow style homes had beautiful lime stone facades. Such a pity so many houses are left to ruin and go to waste. Again really interesting explores thanks Paul.

    I love to watch your videos and all the very different styles of homes in Australia. Especially, the very old and forgotten ones, all original with original furnishings. The homes out in the country. Those are my favorite.
    Be safe!!! I truly admire you are definitely one of the more intelligent explorers out there knowing you need to use a mask to protect your lungs. I wish other explorers would just get it!!!!
    Thank you so much for sharing. You are awesome!!!!

    I’ve always loved that gentleman’s bungalow, keeping a eye on it since the early 90’s when I first noticed it being so out of place, considering it’s location, hoping one day it wouldn’t be engulfed by its surroundings, rather it forever being the last bastion of times gone by, but as I drove past it last I noticed the boards on everything, thank you for the tour and a record of its existence, as I’m not very optimistic about its future!

    Great filming as always, UI. I had a horrible feeling the water leak in the first house was coming from the toilet, but I won't dwell on that. The second and third houses looked like bomb sites. I think the owners might have taken the tiles and mantle for reuse in their new place. I can't remember when I last saw a stack of encyclopedias like that. The last house looks like an early post-WWII prefab.

  • @kendokunti
    @kendokunti 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    the last house looks like one of the old transportable houses from the old Leigh Creek township that was put in place in the early 60's or so to provide additional housing as the coal mining operation expanded. All the transportable houses were sold off in the early 80's when the coal field encroached on the old township and a new town was built about 20K's south of the old township so the old township area could be mined. There's plenty of old town transportables all over SA and you still see a few on the Nthrn fringe of Adelaide where this house probably is.

    First house was a shame to lose, second had a couple of interesting wing back chairs, look like they came out of a closed library reading room, big money for those in decent shape here. A friend of mine bought two leather examples at auction, and made a packet on them.Third house looked to be an early pre-fab, maybe early 50's there were a load of those done post war for the veterans. cheers!

    Excellent...
    Now for a silly question, why does it seem alot of houses in SA have cracks?

    • @urbexindigo5164
      @urbexindigo5164  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi Kerrie :-) A very valid and common question and Adelaide sits on very reactive clay soil which contracts as the seasons pass which causes subsidence in the foundations resulting in those cracks. Adelaide is known for having the highest rate of wall cracking in Australia and building codes were changed in the 60`s to help counter the clay soil. :-)

      Thought i was clever for a second there. Upon further thought, i guess there's no roof on the add-on (hence scrap metal in yard) and light is coming straight through the light fittings?

      Hi Kara :-) It has happened a few times and you need to be prepared to talk your way out of it. Luckily the times I have been approached they have been cooperative with permission and further info on the house. Although one developer tried to make me delete the photos but they did not want to call the police either because he thought I was from a media company haha :-)

    Good morning Paul,I couldn't believe they left that Chesterfield lounge sweet,they always been my favourite n I bought one when I come here , they're so expensive and the tired leather makes look more nice ,I think one of those Metallica posters should be saved by you ,I know don't suppose to touch or take anything but that's going to the rubbish ☹️ N I always wondered is there a need for people to trash a place that much? ok Paul,I enjoyed this video thankyou till the next one 🤗From a Frenchy in Australia 🇫🇷🇦🇺
