This is a little song I wrote a few years back...hope you enjoy it!

Nothing Like You
I was feeling kind of restless on a Saturday night
Staying home to watch a movie just didn’t seem right
So I went to my closet and I grabbed my red dress
and I wiggled right into it with a little finesse
I didn’t really know what I had put it on for
but before I even knew it I was heading for the door
Grabbed my keys from the counter and a beer from the fridge
and I headed for the tavern up on Chicataw Ridge
He was standing in the corner with a whiskey in his hand
and I was thinking to myself that he was my kind of man
When he looked at me and smiled, well that was all she wrote
So I grabbed myself a napkin and I scribbled him a note:
Darlin’ I ain’t never seen nothing like you
with that smile so bright and those eyes so blue
If you’ve got a little time then I can make you see…

So I wandered over to him and I asked him to dance
like every other woman who had gotten the chance
but instead of saying no like I thought he might do
he just took me by the hand and said “It’s long overdue”
I wasn’t really sure what he was talking about
but the way he held me tight my heart was starting to shout
that this might be the man that I’ve been trying to find
and the passion in his arms just drove me out of my mind

you have no idea the kind of things that you do
to a sweet little countrified woman like me
why don’t you take me home so I can set you free?
I slipped the note into his pocket while we circled around
and I swear I don’t believe my feet were touching the ground
But when the song was over he stepped back and bowed
he took another step backward and slipped into the crowd
Right about then somebody called out my name
so I turned myself around to see it was an old flame
and when I turned back my dance partner was gone
I could have kicked myself for not trying to hold on

and when you walked away it split my heart in two
I guess you didn’t really get the chance to see
that you ain’t never met no one like me
Well I looked around the bar for the longest damn time
just trying to find that man who stopped my heart on a dime
But right about the time I was about to just leave
I found a note on a napkin tucked up under my sleeve
It said “I ain’t never felt nothing like this
before I head home I’d like to steal a big kiss.
I’ll be waiting outside back in the parking lot
I just had to cool off because you make me so hot”
Well I pushed and swirled and slid my way through the crowd
and I must have cussed twenty-some people out loud
When I flew out the door he was just driving away
But he slammed on the brakes when he heard me shout “Hey!”
“Stranger I ain’t never had nothing like you
I can’t say out loud the things I’d like to do
But if you take me home then I will make you see…
that you ain’t never had nothing like me”
