Ibanez V1 & V2 vs. V7 & V8 | Pickup sound comparison

Sound comparison between these two set of classic Ibanez pickups.

These guitars did not come with these pickups. These pickups are my self installed. GRGR131EX came originally with Ibanez Infinity set of pickups which are very muddy pickups so i changed those with these pair of V1 & V2. RG170 came originally with Ibanez Powersounds which also are little pit muddy pair of pickups so i upgraded those to V7 & V8. First a little info blast and then a sound test in this video. I have V1 and V2 on my SV470. I love it when it comes for warmness. Even on the drive, you can hear their tone itself

I had an Emerald Green RG470 from the early 90's that had the V7 and V8 pickups back in the day.

Thanks for sharing. I wonder how much V1/2 warmth is due to the hardtail rather than the pickups in this comparison. Not better or worse, just different and both were fine.

V7 and V8 is also stock pickups in RG470 and that guitar is not on your list.

How are the v7 v8?..I think they are awesome sounding pickups...very similar to aftermarket dimarzios...don't know why people change them.....

I like those pickups a lot...V8 is very nice sounding. V7 isn't so good as V1 but it is a deseant sounding pickup✌️
