In today's video, on the gsxr 1000 2002 project bike, I remove the fairings completely. I also remove the underbelly tail section which is a tad tricky with all the electrical connections. If you follow the video you'll do just fine!

One great video because you show everything clearly without shortcuts or with bad video angles. I'd love to change the fairing on my 1000 K3 at some point and your video will be very much useful.

What’s up man good vid I was worried I was going to have to take it to someone but I see that I can probably do this all by myself , I just needa order all the parts because I myself going to need a new subframe , headlight , bracket , fairings ect. Lol

Gilbert Gardens I didn it over the weekend man! I’m not sure tbh previous owner used it as a stunt bike so I had to put it all the fairings and brought it up back to life !

@@romeojhd3720 yeah this guys got the sub frame underbelly pan and hot bodies installed just need to remove the old subframe and swap em.
@His Masters Voice I didn't end up getting the hot bodies. I think I'm going to modify it myself and leave the rear end up.

Where did you get the fairing kit from?
They were original. I fixed them up. Ish.
Help*** I'm putting together the front nose of a gsxr1000 2006** I order the nose stay fairing braket. It came with no screws, what screws should I get in order to screw the healdlight/nose fairing to the cow stay braket
No idea on the 2006 buddy. I would just order the bolt pack for gsxr off Amazon covers pretty much everything.
Lol i knew you were Canadian, I guess we do have an accent after all. I'm working on a 03 1000, front fairing is a little different from the 750 and 600.
Yes seems the 1000 fairings are a bit different. I think the mounting holes still match up? I know 1000 exhaust is different so there are some underbelly mods that might need to be made to attach different fairings. I'm sanding and painting the fairings now making a video. Matte white. I think they look good.
@@GilbertGardens Mine has original side fairings so no mods, the bike i have is completely black less the orange and black side fairings. The 1000's for whatever reason changed the front end to look more like the K5/k6 with the stacked headlight vs the side by side of the 600/750. They also went with a re designed cluster. I still have the cluster out of my old 02 750 if you need it. good luck with your paint work, i'll be doing it in the spring.
@@cpgixxer my one screw is busted that holds the cluster. If I can't get it squared away I'll message you for sure.
Can you show how that wire harness under the right fearing is set up I had to redo my wire harness and the guy I bought it from had it all over the place

Yes your right I found that out shortly after lol. Probably much needed. I'll be doing a few more videos showing the bike off I got it about 95% ready to go. Do you know what bolt on exhausts fit 2001 1k?
Akrapovic makes a nice one..A little pricey tho.. Delkevic sounds great. Two brothers is another..I personally have the Akrapovic.
Hey man i have pretty much the same bike a 2001 and my headlight dangles as well when i remove that fairing haha. At 12:18 mark what is that part called i need to get a replacement as the left side bolts had fallen out and it melted that part.
im not sure what the technical term is to be honest. I Think it would be a fairing coupler or something. helps secure the two side fairings. yes mine got toasty too. id check ebay you might be able to order just the small center piece vs a whole fairing kit. Cheers.
I found it the part number is 94490-35F00, im from Manitoba we should exchange info to network our own gsxr mods and maintenance

It was a 2001 frame with a 2002 motor in it
